When someone at work asks me why I need a vacation, I usually just inform them that it's none of their fucking business in no uncertain terms. If it's a higher up, I just use the ol' "time with the family" excuse even if I plan on doing nothing but staring at a wall contemplating bashing my head into it for fun all week.
Just in case it's not clear, the reason I'm not taking a vacation/personal time/sick day in order to play Dragon Quest Is because I will only be about 30 days in on the new job. Typically employers don't like people doing that so soon.
Then again it's not 100% official yet. I'm turning in my resignation on Monday, and who knows? Maybe my current employer will insist on me staying and give me a ridiculous raise in order to stay. That said, I think we have a better shot of getting Star Tropics 3 first.

I hope it works out for ya. I'm also leaving my job pretty soon....should be interesting to see how it goes.
