What a supreme piece of shit. The game is even more shitty than the order about the whole not wanting to be a video game thing.Nice, so you really like this one.
Of course, it's the Super Metroid of its era.
Not been a very active summer. Lots of Rock Band 4 and Skyrim. Finished a few games.
Until Dawn - Fantastic. Creepy, plays better than I expected, QTEs work better than in any David Cage game.
inFAMOUS Second Son - Made myself hate it going through it twice. A fine game, but can't hold a torch to the first two.
The Order 1886 - "Utterly inconsequential" is the phrase from reviews that stands out. It plays good, looks good and has some neat ideas, but it's over far too quickly and seems to have forgotten to have any closure whatsoever. Another great game that was cut down to bland to "save stuff for the next one." I hate that.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst - Pending. Loving it so far.
51. Shadow Warrior - 4/10
I'm surprised at how bad the game feel is in the game, how bloated the game design itself is, how fucking monotonous the combat encounters can get, and how off the pacing is. For a smaller team PC game that has an internet following, I expected a much stronger game, shit makes Destiny look like Doom in comparison.
Mirror's Edge Catalyst!
Such an improvement on the original game, but still "feels" just as good as the first one did. The change to an open world does wonders for memorable gameplay, and it doesn't feel nearly as punishing for minor slip-ups. It'll probably be in my top 5 this year. And the music is great too.

And with that 52 games beaten, and I got it done before football season. Phew.
Just finished Resident Evil 4 HD on the Xbox One. Nothing much to say about it since there's nothing really new about it. Graphics could use an overhaul and the controls can be awkward to get adjusted to at first but it's still one of the greatest games of all time. 10/10
Updated with Zombie Vikings. It's a fun enough game to play, but it tries SO. HARD. to be funny that sometimes it gets to be eye-rollingly cliche and awkward.
I imagine the development team as a bunch of hipster guys with big beards and granola girls who wear black-rimmed glasses and knitted hats that find the same jokes funny over and over and over and over again... It's almost like they thought being intentionally corny was clever enough to be edgy and a joke unto itself. The entire game was like a group of people who have in-jokes that they keep telling repeatedly in mixed company until they become a "thing"...
53. Beat Mega Man X - 9/10
It's Megaman X, it's divine.
54. Beat Ratchet & Clank 2016 - 7/10
All in all it's still a good game, because the core of this series was damn good since the beginning. Albeit this is a more refined version with a greatest hits collection for a weapons arsenal with the groovitron and mr zurkon still being great as always, with the new addition of the pixelizer being an absolute blast to use. I would prefer mroe significant upgrades to the formula though, because it's been stale as fuck for awhile. It's what stops the game from ever reaching Going Commando and Up Your Arsenal heights for me (plus no multiplayer, which was good), albeit it never hits the momentum killing lows that are some of the borefest segments in Tools of Destruction and Crack in Time. Though that doesn't make me like the Clank segments or that stiff and clunky ass space ship sequence all that much. Plus the part where the game runs at 30 frames per second (and its fucking noticeable) when this series used to be 60 faps on the fucking PS2 and the PS3 is ridiculous.
But a good game, none the less.
Yeah they kind of "assassin's creeded" Ratchet and Clank a long time ago. Its always been good, but it went from being something fresh and different to being something stale and predictable. Too many releases.

Mmhmm, difference is Ratchet in its staleness has good mechanics to fall back on, much like how new super mario bros games are creatively bankrupt as fuck, but gameplay wise? It's mario, of course it's good. AssCreed's strengths were its settng being pretty and Ezio being likable. Second they fucked that up by picking settings that don't help the gameplay (AssCreed 3) or coming up with characters that aren't all that interesting (also AssCreed 3, and 4) is when the stuff the series never did all that well: It has shallow combat+the stealth systems are far too half baked to ever really feel like an assassin became unacceptable.
From my understanding they've messed with the stealth systems a bit more since Unity, but you know, that game launched broken, so fuck ever giving Ubisoft money for that game.
I've never played more than five minutes of a Ratchet and Clank game, so I'm very interested in the latest one.

I had not either. I put it in 6.5-7 territory. Just went on for too long.
Eh, it definitely noticeable padding in stuff like Clank, and that second to last area you have to go through just so you can arbitrarily get further in a level you already been in is a lame way to finish the game.

I'll have to investigate if it got a physical realesae down here, sometimes in Au that happens. It't the kind of game I'd want to have a copy of.
Updated with Hyper Light Drifter!
Hey! Remember when I WASN'T finishing games this year?
For those that are keeping track, that's my 1267 finished game!
Nice, so you really like this one.
