1 day left!!!!

It's here. A dream come true. A sequel to Star Wars starring our favorite characters. I still can't believe it.

It has a 97% on rotten tomatoes, it is one of the best reviewer movies of the year. It is clearly a triump. Get ready for the start of a new classic trilogy. So here we discuss the movie, no spoilers with out tags.

I so cannot wait.  The hype has a grip on me.  I found some OST music on YouTube but it's gone now.  I imagine Vader and I standing in line tomorrow reporting on the craziness.

One night left. Tonight I watch Return of the Jedi and for the first time I have one more movie to watch after, an actual sequel.

So why does this series mean so much to some of us? Why is this silly space opera so popular? It's a movie that touches on so many universal themes but does so in such an extraordinary way that it captures the imagination as well. It's a movie that can change a kids life, to learn that anything is possible, to learn about good an evil, about hardships and sacrifice. It's a movie that can build character and inspire people to dream for something more. It also inspired a whole generation of future filmmakers because they saw the power film can have at such an early age.  Kids aren't going to be inspired by the godfather or some adult drama, it's a universal story for all.

i am not saying a movie needs to teach life lessons for it to be great, but it doesn't hurt. Star wars is not the only movies to do this but I feel it is the most universal of them all, a story that has crossed generation gaps, that adults and kids can enjoy together. It's the kind of story you can't wait to share with them not just because you know they will love it but because you want to experience it through those pure young eyes.

For some this is just another movie but for me and many others it is a part of the fabric that makes me me. I guess it can be silly that a space fantasy can mean that much to us but we are on a forum of 30 somethings who play video games so I know there are parts of this that is understandable.

Whats coming tomorrow is not just another movie, it's a reunion with old friends. It's the start of a whole new story we will be able to share with future generations and hope it has the same positive impact it had on us.

Lets just hope it's good. Nyaa

I wish Ebert was still alive.  I'd love to read his thoughts on the new movie.

To me, it's everything about these movies, they really are magical.  Luke is a true hero, one that overcame the odds, resisted evil and prevailed at the end.  I wanted to be Luke or possibly fight alongside him.  I was just amazed at how Lucas and company were able to spin this amazing tale over the span of three movies, consistently, and with the greatest quality and care.

I really care for these characters.  Take Darth Vader, for example.  I despised him by the end of Empire.  His deeds were despicable.  How could he put the heroes through all of that?  By the end of Jedi, I felt sorrow and pity for him.  You can tell that he was quite a tortured soul, powerless to overcome his situation.  I didn't need a prequel trilogy to see this.  I felt it even as a little kid.  They told a story so well that millions of people adore this trilogy.  To many, like myself, they are truly the "holy grail" of cinema.  It's why I love movies.

Yeah. I always enjoyed watching Siskel & Ebert even if I didn't always agree with their reviews.

It was awesome.  I'll give more impressions tomorrow, gotta sleep.  I'll include the Twitter feed of the guy sitting next to me.  Our showing became a little classier thanks to one guy who was very dapper.

Absolutely glorious, majestic, everything I could have hoped and more! This is Star Wars, it is back at full force, pun intended. This is by a mile JJs best movie, the direction is stunning. The acting is superb. The story, the characters, wow wow wow. This is why we go to the movies, this is everything that Star Wars was back in the day.

This movie is non stop awesome from start to finish. It moves at such a fast pace, so full of energy and fun. But what makes it work is that it's always character focused and it's always moving the story forward. And what a story it is, for the first time in forever I don't know everything about Star Wars, there is mystery and so much potential for the future of this franchise.

So how are the new characters, they are excellent, they will become the favorites of a whole new generation of fans. Daisy Ridley will be a star, she is stunning on film, she owned every scene she was in. Boyega's Finn is like the every man thrust into this fantastic adventure, he makes him so relatable to everyone. Poe is pure charisma. And our villain is everything a great villain should be, well except for the actor who doesn't look menacing when he takes off the helmet, still he does a good job.

But this is Han Solo's movie, Harrison Ford brings his best performance in years. This is ESB good, this might be the best Han has ever been. Everything is on point, the dialogue, the acting, the feels. Leia she's there, I wonder of Carrie fishers range but they try. Nothing on Luke in this spoiler free review.

So is it perfect, no. There is way too much going on, this movie is packed with lore and characters. It does not have that elegant pacing of the OT, it's super fast paced and this leads to some characters feeling like their were under used.

I could not be happier leaving the theater. This movie is going to be a monster because it has something for everyone. Kids will love it and parents will be super engaged. I really don't know how anyone can hate this movie. It has everything we go to the movies for.

I had a Star Wars dream last night. Edgecrusher was acting as Jabba and he was porkin' Leia in her slave outfit.
