I have an i5 too...its plenty.
I have also decided to get Fallout 4 on PC.....Steam brothers unite!

Because he played it.
Well, so far so good. I really don;t want to give any spoilers at all, but... the open world is open, and it's not glitchin'.
My copy's been shipped from the UK, so I hope to get it by Friday. If not, then it means I probably have to wait until Monday.

The intro was fantastic. There was a really entertaining cartoon to watch that teaches you all the perks while the game installed, really neat. I liked the character creation and that my character talks now. That moment I stepped out into the world, woah! It's colorful too! No more brown everywhere, graphics are nice but the frame rate is a bit suspect. It feels like fallout which is a really good thing. I am hooked already.
The game looked kind of ugly until you leave the vault and then all of a sudden, it looked current gen. I found my dog companion fairly quick who knows is good because these giant bees are kicking my ass.
I only had stuttering at the very start of the game (PC) but after that it has been okay.
In terms of gameplay it is certainly better than F3. Can;t wait to see if the story is as quirky (in a good way) as New Vegas. Two or so hours in, it's certainly going to satisfy Fallout players.
I spent an hour going through wreckage in a neighborhood. I unlocked the workshop and I have no clue what to do with it. Out of nowhere it's just like "demolish entire house. Build a house. Build defenses. Make a radio to call in people" it doesn't tell you how to do any of it. So that seems overwhelming, I just moved on. Still very early on for me.
Played for several hours yesterday. Got my first few settlers and started building. Explored some more of the wasteland and did a couple of side missions. This game is sooooo good.
I can't seem to get very far without trouble. I'm also only a level three so maybe once I clear the town mission, I'll be good to explore.
Well, to summarize, I like the idea of the settlers and stuff, but if what aspro said is true, it would be a missed opportunity IMO. Anyways the game itself is neat, performs nicely without trouble and the shooting feels like an improvement over both FO3 and NV.
I haven't played it yet but I booted it just to set it up. Once again, a new game is recommending Ultra settings automatically. My rig is almost 2 years old and is just now starting to be maxed out.
I'm an old man, I can't play this game without falling asleep. Not that it's boring, it just lacks that urgency of a game online. Any game where you can take your time and I am tired I dose off.
So the town building opened up and I got hooked, but should I be hooked. I know it means nothing. But what if I leave no defenses? Will these people be attacked?
Also I am totally out of space cause I have yet to find a store. I fought some shell crab things that wrecked me. Grenades took care of them though. I still find the gunplay to be very stiff, vats is the way to go.
Power armor was a blast, I feel like I will be using that a ton.
Oh and I did some upgrading. Man there are so many things they throw at you with little explaination. I got companions, how do I see what skills they can level up to? Why are the menus a clunky mess?
It's fallout but it is very similar to past games.
I'm knocking on my wood right now... I've played about 3-5 hours without a single instance of slowdown, crashing, graphics clipping, tearing, etc...
Got through Concord, built up Sanctuary, made my way to Lexington and am now in the process of clearing out an assembly plant. All the claims of "the game slows down to unacceptible frames of animation indoors" are absolutely FALSE. Joined the Minute Men, found the Brotherhood of Steel. So far there's absolutely NOTHING wrong with this game.
A tip for Vader, if you haven't done this already: Not only can you build your own storage objects in Sanctuary, you can also store all your materials in the Workbench. I am 90% positive, if you get the Local Leader perk, you can access your items from --ANY-- workbench in the world, so there's no reason you should be running out of space...
Yeah I have about 6 hours in the game now and so far I haven't had any major issues either. Knock on wood.
The workbench is awesome for unloading al of your junk at once.
It's ok, i5. Yeah, I just wanted to play something on my PS4 other than Netflix. But yeah... PC has to be the way for Fallout 4.
