Who the f*** is going to pick Decrapticons?
I officially hate the Rainmaker. I kill the person holding it then have to wait around shooting its shield which then blows up in my face and kills me. It basically rewards anyone who gets there first regardless of skill and rollers can just run ahead and carpet the map, so the rainmaker can just ink through to the end. POS.
There's no point standing there shooting the shield because it just runs your ink down and someone else will grab it anyway. You might as well just hide and wait for the bubble to burst and run forward. On the only two occasions I had the Rainmaker, in about 6 matches I took it 5 metres away from the end. My team however, was again, shit.
F*** me, I had my first rage quit. Even with stealth super jumps I got killed 3 ties in a row after jumping. And the team we were facing were ridiculous, the sniper guy could shoot a fly at 1000 metres. Worse though are the rollers. It really feels cheap as hell when you are shooting someone for 2 or 3 seconds and they don't die and they don't even have to aim, they just hit the instant WIN button and you get instant death. And the range these rollers can throw ink is as far as most guns. Flipping ridiculous.
So I got adept at avoiding Krakkens, I wait till it's finished and immediately shoot the person when they are back to normal. And instead of them dying, they only need 1 swish of the roller and I'm instant dead again. Rollers can fuck off, cheap AS fuck.

That sounds like trying to play Call of Duty as a low level guy with none of the good weapons...shooting the hell out of people and they just turn around one bullet boom you're dead. I can't stand when competitive games feel cheap.
I hopped into two matches with GG I was on the opposite team twice before he quit the game.
His team beat mine in the first match but my team surprisingly won the second round.
We were losing until the last 20 seconds.

HOW. DARE. YOU!
PLAYING SPLATOON DURING THE MARIO KART HOUR!!
Yeah, I laid off the gas in the last 30 seconds, and we lost by like 1 point LOL.
Damn, I was kicked out of 4 turf wars matches due to an unstable connection.
I finally won two Rainmaker matches, it can be fun once you know the rules. I made it all the way to the end but didn't know where the end point was so walked right past it and went to the enemy spawn point with the rainmaker in my hands LOL.
I was playing Rainmaker last night and enjoying it until the results were announced and it really pissed me off.
So my team had the rainmaker within the last 10 metres of the end point for 85% of the match. Near the end in the last 50 seconds the opposing team got the rainmaker about the same distance from our end point. The results said they won by 1 point.
How the fuck is this thing marked? I thought it was like Tower control or Splatzones and if there is no knockout it's based on how long you have held the tower/rainmaker closest to the end point? It's really fucked up when we had them on the ropes for 85% of the match and somehow they win by 1 point based on them having the rainmaker for 15% of the time.
New map is awesome although it's weired how they put a lip up on the field just after the respawn point so no one can get up there. The central road is great for killer wails and ink seekers.
So I was thinking about creating custom gear combinations depending on what weapon I use, to compensate for weaknesses. Having custom gear slots you could save would be cool. I was thinking all defence with a 96 gal would turn you into a tank? Or max mobility to combat the slow run speed? Max damage for the aerospray?
Maybe all ink sub savers for splat walls?
Anyone else know of any maps unsuitable for seekers? Blackberry skate park is useless for them. Floundering Heights too.
So after playing a lot of the Rainmaker I had something of an epiphany. My team penned the opposition back into their own last quarter for 90% of the match. At the end the game awarded the opposition the win. Why? If there is (no) knockout the game awards the win to whatever team has held onto the Rainmaker for the longest, even if we were beating the shit out of them. This is why it's my least favourite ranked mode and I'd rather play the other modes. There's something iffy about it and most of the problems are because of that Rainmaker shield that just has to recharge immediately after you splat the holder.
Instead of letting you press the advantage, it allows the other team to regroup, stand in a circle and pump the shield full of ink. You kill them again, rinse and repeat. And because we were nearer their end it was easier for them to recoup while we had to travel the whole map distance or super jump and hope there was someone left to super jump to. We did this, stopped them in their tracks, held them back and they get the win.
So I noticed I always use machine guns so I played a whole hour trying other weapons. With the ink brushes you can kill (a lot), but you can't ink much and on some levels with high walls you have a hard time getting up them.
I think the main use of brushes is to lay down beacons, get killed, go back to beacon. Kill some fools, lay more beacons. Seriously though it's so easy to kill with the octobrush and you need little skill. No wonder it's so annoying.
I actually was the high scorer with the rapid blaster, again high kill rate but kinda boring to use. I'm fairly useless with a scope weapon but it's made worse because inevitably someone else on the team has a charger and two charges can't ink much. Tried the rollers, they are quite fun, but I need a more powerful one. Kinda slow but powerful. Bought a carbon roller instead.
The slosher is actually really fun to use, you can ink alot and kill a lot but having to continuously press the zr button for everybucket is tiring.
My favorite weapons are the Aerospray, SPLASH-O-Matic, and N-Zap '89.
I feel those are the ones I do the best with.
I'm terrible with Chargers. I never used Splatlings and Sloshers. I used to be good with Rollers but I'm terrible with them now.
Splash-o-Matic is slightly more powerful than the Aerospray but the rate of fire is equal to the Splattershot Jr.
The N-Zap has stats equal to the Splattershot Jr. but it shoots further.
Both weapons are the most accurate of the shooter class in the game so if you are playing a mode where you want to have a high rate of fire but be very accurate you should pick one of them.
What's this? Free hours?
