I was trying out the Custom Dual Squelcher for the first time. It's nice, having a larger range than most. Seriously cuts back on the roller instadeaths. It sucks in close combat though, doesn't deal enough damage. The beacon also isn't as usefull as I had hoped. It seems to selfdestroy after someone uses it?
edit: just looked it up, it does disappear after being used once, but you apparently can place 3 of them at any given time. Hmmmm. I also think a lot of people don't know what it does, as no one on my team seemed to be using them
It's not a weapon I see being used a lot. Maybe because it's not really good at spraying ink as it shoots fairly straight ahead, making it difficult to cover wide area's.
Splatfest! Lederhosen and half liter pints of beer all round!
Not quite, but still a good time. Go-Go team pop!
So basically it's just turf wars, but everyone's trying harder and there are 3 maps in rotation. You level up, the better your level, the better the prizes. Leveling up takes ages though, even if you win. First time you need 25 points, then 50, then 99. And as you get 5 points for winning, 2 for losing, and zero for absolutely being destroyed, that's a big commitment to make. I played about 2 hours of mostly winning, and got a total of 79 points.
Also, this one time matchmaking glitched up for some reason, and I was appointed a one person team against 4 opponents. Must have been because I was on such a great run the system figured I'd be just fine on my own. I killed 10 of the bastards, but in the end they simply overran me. True story.

That because Rock outnumbered the Pop losers. I actually played against a single pop guys with 4 people. It was not pretty. Also a few times it was Rock against Rock, because no Pop opponents could be found. I think Rock will win on sheer numbers alone!
Personally I think I managed to stand my ground. It wasn't pretty, but I managed to get way more kills in than they could. I haven't checked the game today yet, I wonder how the 'prizes' will work. I think it was originally intended that you would get a reward per victory, but now it seems as if it'll be dependent of your Splatfest level, which is a stupid system IMO as it favors those with more free time.
You misssed some good fights. And the opportunity to win shells, or clams, or whatever. Items that allow you to add perk slots to 1 or 2 star gear or to 'reset' gear.
I started doing more ranked battle stuff now that I got that 52 gal with the seeker and inkstrike, but twice had a game disconnect while I was piling on some prime ass kills.
I like that ranked game mode more than Turf War.

I haven't tried any ranked battles yet. I'm an octowussy
Tried the cutom dual squelcher for a while, but reverted back tot the .52Gal. Sure, the huge range of the dual squelcher is nice, but most of the combat is close encounter, and the .52Gal is much more efficient at that. Also bought the Custom rapid blaster, after having been decimated by someone using it. It has a slowish rate of fire, but 2 indirect hits will take out an oppontent. I'll be giving that a whirl next time I get some games in.
You should try, it changes the battle dynamics, it's very refreshing.
Yeah, I supose some day I'll stumble in there. I guess I think I'm not up to scratch for ranked battles, although that's probably not true at all. Still enjoying unranked turfwar a lot too.

Your level is higher than mine, I'm a 14. You should be fine for ranked battles, it puts you up against people with the same rank, I'm C+ or B- at the moment.
Tower control is miles more fun than splat zones, it seems it rotates every hour like the stages.
I'm staying fresh and all, but damn I am on a 10-15 game losing streak. I lost one match by .2%.
What sucks is I am usually the best or second best scorer on my teams.
I went into a ranked match and got owned so am sticking to regular battles.
Unfortunately none of you guys are on when I am.
Had a few matches with Sup and M, a Miiverse buddy. We lost about every match but factoring in the 300 point win bonus I was scoring the most in the matches. So my team let me down.
