At first I thought the game might be just a little too cartoony and happy and jolly, but after about 5 minutes I didn't give that a second thought. It's all just fun and completely works. The characters, Pokemon, and settings all look great. Traveling with a group is a neat thing too. Two days ago, I picked my own copy off the shelf at the store (I was that close), but then put it back. Figured for $60 I can wait until Mrs. Aspro is done with it.
