Added Ninty and Gemini!

Add me: Phantom_Leo

I added you. But if you add somebody through Miiverse you would get a message that pops up and ask if you want to add them as a friend. I didn't get a message that you added me until I added you.

It's on the last page cheeky

I'll save you the trouble.  My ID is Sedirus.  I went to quote bear and my response became part of the quote.

Just did a distance test to see how far I could get from the U before the signal was lost. Sadly, it was not that far at all. I'd say maybe 15 feet before it lost connection. So much for playing U games in another room in your house!

Hrm

I did that when I was setting up my wifi. I could leave my bedroom and and walk to my PC but when I get passed my PC it starts to lose connection. I just measured the distance from my Wii U to the point were I lost connection with the Wii U and that is 22 feet.

Edit* Vader I couldn't see when you added me; Was it through Miiverse or did you add through friends list?

I see. What messed me up was that bear said he added you before that post with your Id. So how did that happen? *cue xfiles theme*

I put it up at gamespot. Bear probably snagged it from there.

As for the friend request thing

*rant incoming*

WTF Nintendo?!? How could you screw this up?? Would it have been too much to make it simple? All you had to do is pull in your r&d team, show a video of Xbox or playstation notifications and say "Something like that". Instead, we have to jump through a few more hoops just for a friend request. You can make a social tool, a good one at that, yet can't give us some indication of a message received on the screen while on the menu or in game? A Mario head? A triforce symbol? A DOT?!? Anything besides what you currently have..which is nothing?

*end rant*

I really do like what this system, but it does blow my mind how Nintendo dropped the ball on something that these days is so simple to implement.

It really depends I got a notification when the person tried to add me through Miiverse. But if you go through the friendlist you don't get a notification.

I think he means in game, of which you get nothing but a blue light on the pad which can mean anything.

Good news! Well good news for me at any rate. I'm managing to keep the signal to the console from about 25 to 30 feet away. That means, yes Wii U in the bedroom (for games that allow for tablet screen play). At any rate I get to play Mario in bed. Good times.

Nope, that's just a little too far away I'm afraid.

Played about two hours of The Last Story today. WOW! What an utterly entrancing game; I didn't want to stop! Believe it or not, very little of those two hours was spent actually fighting anything. I just got passed the intro sequence and you are then told to go out and familiarize yourself with the city you are based in. The city is practically a character in itself. There are plenty of people wandering around, lots of optional quests to find, lots of back alleys to explore. You get random stat boosts for your party as you explore more and more. The city looks like something you'd find in Vagrant Story or Final Fantasy Tactics. It is a PERFECT size, neither too big or two small. Supposedly there is only this ONE city in the game, but that's fine; there's enough going on where it won't get boring. It's divided into about four or five main sections, they all look a bit different, have their landmarks to make note of... Getting around in the city is manageable by sights alone, but there's a map/mini-map to access at any time too.

The characters themselves are portrayed as much more human and likeable than any other characters in almost any other RPG in a looong time. They have emotions and worries, back-stories and bad habits. They actually seem HUMAN, not SUPER-human like sooo many FF characters. The whole game, cast and world's story seems to be told on a much more intimate level than most anything else. EXCELLENT!

The battles are a little bit confusing at first, but I think they'll become pretty logical, functional and fun after learning their nuances!

There's only one negative in all this and it's something I feel I should caution you all about: After quitting the game and trying to go back to the Wii menu, to try and then return to the Wii U menu, when I did so I got a "Wii System Data is Corrupted" message and the Wii U hard-locked. Looking around at a few message boards, this is a somewhat common thing with The Last Story. There have been posts of people getting this message even trying to go INTO the Wii menu after a while. I'm not saying The Last Story causes this. I am hoping this is just an emulation bug Nintendo needs to iron out, but it's definitely a bit worrying. I'll post more here if I run into it again.

Great feedback on the game. This is on my list of games to check out this year. Be sure to keep us informed on this error though. It's not erasing your saved game or anything else is it?

From the few posts I read, this error doesn't erase your saved games...

...it makes the Wii mode of the Wii U completely non-functional... yay...

It doesn't seem like a wide-spread problem and it's probably just coincidence when it comes to The Last Story and the error, but...

I've had a few strange things occur between the Wii and Wii U menus. Once, this error. My TV seems to get confused between resolution modes when switching between the two. Another time, the tint was completely off when quitting a VC game (all the reds were green) and going back to the Wara Wara Plaza. Hopefully more updates are in the near future.
