Legion.
_____________
Too many themes in Mass Effect 3 for it to be understood by kids:
- Loss -- If you haven't lived long enough to experience loss, it's not something that would have significance.
- Acceptance -- If you believe the world centers around you, you are always right and are incapable of accepting ideas other than your own.
- Sacrifice -- If you believe everyone in the world exists to serve you, and you are entitled, you'll never know the value of a sacrifice.
- Belief -- If you believe in nothing... how can you understand ANY of the themes in this game?
_____________
When you are young and stupid and presented with concepts too advanced for you to comprehend, you will do what comes naturally to you...
...and troll.
I just came to an INCREDIBLE conclusion!!!
After listening to many conversations and hearing Prothean philosophies...

Javik = Iga
Yeah, lol. Javik threw me off a bit at first. I expected an "elder, benevolent sage" kind of person.
Drunk Tali: "Emergency Induction Port."
Shepard: "Uh. It's a straw, Tali."

"You did good, son. I am proud of you."
...and the credits roll on Mass Effect 3.

What did you think of the ending?

I absolutely loved it. Too many ideas that would have flown over the heads of the kids that played it, but I understood EXACTLY what it was trying to say.

The so-called "star child" that people complain about the most was the little boy who was killed at the beginning of the game. He was not some deus ex machina THING that the developers invented to end the game. He was THE catalyst. It was presented in the image of the little boy (as was explained in the Legion segment of the game) because THAT'S how Shepard would see the "Catalyst." It was his personal motivation for saving his race and persevering throughout the whole game. Maybe not the boy himself, but the idea of having children (lots of little blue babies in my game) and living a life filled with love, freed from the "Order" (Control) of the Reapers.
The Ending was not supposed to be the summation of all the players choices throughout 3 games... That was what the entire last GAME was about! The ending, ending was Shepard's final Renegade or Paragon choice made physical rather than the pulling of one trigger or another. In a way it WAS the summation of your actions for the last few games because it followed the thought pattern of Blue (Love, Freedom, Belief in a Future BASED on Faith) --or-- Red (Strict ORDER and Control, No room for free thinking or Emotion).
BASED?
So it was all really about Based God? Fucking disgraceful that people are pissed off with it then.

The last, last scene WAS perfect because of the way The StarGazer worded what he said. He referred to him as The Shepard, not as Shepard. It was not meant to be in a "Religious" sense. It was supposed to be in a respectful, LEGEND-ary sense. One of the themes of the game was NOT relying on religions or doctrines (Order) (as was shown in the Asari Temple), but relying on Humanity and one's SELF. Like a parent to a child or grandparent to a grandchild, passing down advice, teaching him or her to live a life full of love and freedom of choice.
It was worded in this way INTENTIONALLY. Legion, in a lot of christain documents, is how they would refer to demons or The Devil. Legion, the one who is many, represented the Evil of the first game, or the Devil. Legion didn't have a name until he was given one by The Crew of the Normandy. He didn't refer to Shepard by name, he called him Shepard Commander, or Commander of the Shepards, or those who would ultimately deliver his people (Geth) from evil. Legion was to his people what Shepard was to his own. He sacrificed himself out of love, proving that he had a "soul." In a way, Shepard redeemed the "Devil."
The Geth were the most like the Reapers, if Shepard could redeem them, then NO ONE was above redemption. He was a TRUE, HUMAN "savior." Again, not in a religious sense, but in a way where humans and the power of Love could shape their own futures and destinies, moreso than any religion or doctrine could...
The Stargazer is one who stares off into the infinity of Space and still believes. He shows the ultimate form of Faith, but in this case, it was the power of Man, or one Man, whom he was paying his respects to.
I loved this game and EVERYTHING about it. FUCK all the people who are trying to destroy something like this, just because they don't understand...

I am curious about something... At the end, where they show the wreck of the Normandy on that green planet, who did they show emerging in your endings? In mine it showed Joker, Edi and Liara. There was no indication as to the fate of Tali, Javik, Garrus, Kaidan and James. Does that differ? How DO the endings differ?
Also, I LOVED how they had Shepard show an almost frantic concern for Steve Cortez when he crashed in London. Shows what could have been in one of the man on man scenarios, and I appreciate the fact that a man can show concern and care about the fate of another man in that way in this game!

I got the two teammates that I picked for the final battle. Namely, Liara and Garrus. To be honest, I regretted having Ashley first and then Miranda as my LIs in the games. The final conversation with Liara was very moving.
Glad you enjoyed it and I am happy you aren't joining the crazy train.
