We are heading into what may be the most incredible year of entertainment ever. This is the most geektastic year for gaming and movies, the potential lineups are crazy.

Gaming:

  • Witcher 3
  • Bloodborne
  • Batman Arkham Knight
  • The Order
  • Metal Gear Solid V
  • Mortal Kombat X
  • Quantum Break
  • Halo 5
  • Uncharted 4
  • The Division
  • The Legend of Zelda Wii U
  • Xenoblade Chronicles X
  • Splatoon
  • Star Fox
  • Star Wars Battlefront
  • No Mans Sky
  • Resident Evil Revelations 2
  • Axiom Verge
  • Persona 5
  • Star Citizen
  • Mighty No.9
  • Rainbow Six

Plus potential games like Mass Effect 4, Fallout 4, FFXV, who knows what Nintendo games there will be, Santa Monica game, new Assassins Creed, new CoD, Scalebound. Plus the retail release of Oculus and Morpheus ushering in the VR era.

Just having a MGS and Zelda game in the same year (hoping Zelda makes it) would be monumental. Add in a new RE as well, oh man I am in heaven. The last time an MGS game, Zelda and RE game all hit the same year,1998… the greatest gaming year of all time.

With movies we have one of the most impressive lineups of big time properties ever headlined by the return of STAR WARS!!!! Avengers 2 will shatter records, then SW may break those records. Next year will be insane at the boxoffice.

  • Star Wars Episode VII
  • Avengers Age of Ultron
  • Jurassic World
  • James Bond 24
  • Ant Man
  • Fantastic Four
  • Fast and Furious 7
  • Terminator Genisys
  • Assassin’s Creed
  • Ted 2
  • Mission Impossible 5
  • Tomorrowland
  • Mad Max Fury Road
  • Taken 3
  • Goosebumps
  • Hunger Games Mocking Jay 2

I know some of you old curmudgeons will be upset at so many sequels. Well of course there will be a bunch of original stuff too, we just dont know what they are yet. But for fans of geek culture, 2015 will be nuts.

Star Wars makes it the best year ever alone.

Yeah, 1977 was a pretty good year for film!

No, I didn't scrub out Arkham Knight. And the movies I'm not interested in have nothing to do with Nintendo either, yeah I know you were kidding. Most of the games I'm not interested in are either because of cynicism or unfamiliarity, a few are crossed out because they have an online focus. I think only RE Revelations 2 is the only game I am not interested in because of the company decisions. It sold best on 3DS, that platform has a 45 million userbase and they've given us two fingers.

You just left that so you wouldn't seem partial to Nintendo.  Nyaa. Totally kidding.  Look, I realize a good bit of this doesn't appeal to you, but there's really no denying there are some major quality titles  coming out next year..  I really don't care for Halo, but can see the quality and care in those games.

The thing is Nintendo has been considered a second console for many for well over a decade.  Nintendo tried something different with the Wii that caught fire with consumers  and third parties stayed.  Nintendo tried something different with the Wii U that bombed with consumers and third parties left.  Maybe they left a little too soon, but it was just a wise business decision for them, nothing else.

You guys need to stop assuming that my every opinion is based around what's coming to Wii U, it's quite rude, actually. I know you say that you're kidding but then you follow it up with a paragraph that makes it clear you are assuming that my every opinion is based around what's coming to Wii U.

I'm not denying any quality, just scrubbing games that hold no interest for me.

Regardless of Wii U support, I wouldn't get most of the games on that list. Do I want to shoot people online? No, never did, never will - have fun with the Division, I wont. Have I played previous versions of those sequels? Nope - never got Witcher 1 or 2, or any Dark Souls games, nor any Persona games and I gave up on MGS after MGS2. Did I ever like Mortal Kombat? Yeah.... 20 years ago.

Do I even know what Star Citizen and Axiom Verge are? Nope.

You guys should know I bought every Halo game apart from ODST, I am all Halo-ed out and I'm not going to buy an X1 anyway.

As for the Order, it's like the antithesis of what I like, to me it's the most boring looking new IP I've ever seen.
