(1) I told you guys I was going to have to be subdued (Sister and Brother in Law sleeping in next room)!
(2) I am so used to listening to you guys, there were times I actually forgot I was participating!
(3) Yeah. Ever see the movie Seven? 'Member the part where the agent sells Brad Pitt that apartment by the train? I thought I had found a great bargain of a space. It was an old artists loft I converted to an apartment. Didn't realize it was RIGHT NEXT TO one of the few places in my area with an elevated subway platform! Wheee! (S'alright! It doesn't bother me and I'm not home as much as one might think!)

Here is the live Sony conference recording. It's me and a friend of mine, his name is Mark. Its raw, its just our reactions as the conference is happening. I dont think you can hear the TV well so it might be hard to figure out what we are reacting to, sometimes I describe it, sometimes I dont. Just skim through it if you would like to.

Is it in mp3 format?
Okay, I got to say, I think you guys were a little too enthusiastic about the prospects of the 3ds. There is still plenty that is not known. What if the games are $50 USD each? What if the console is $350 USD? What if the cart slot is for BC only and all games have to be DL'd (and like the Wii are not transferable?) I'm not saying those things will happen, but they could.
And Vader was saying that Nintendo handhelds have been different enough from home consoles to justify purchasing (as opposed to the PSP and PS3), and then in the next sentence Yoda brings up Metal Gear Solid -- a 5 year old game being brought over from the PS2. (But you are not excited about what Kojima considers MGS5 on the PSP -- which is available today). This handheld is powerful enough that you will now see N64/PS2/PSP and Gamecube games flooding the system.
I am very excited about it. Thing looks good, could use a second analog stick (or at least put it opposite the cross pad).
I like Leo's theory about this being THE exclusive Nintendo console. I agree that's possible, giving the way gaming is going in Japan. Nintendo may sit back and see how well this is received before deciding what to do with the home market.
I enjoyed the podcast gents, and Leo, no need to explain anything, you did a great job, hope you come back again.

We are talking about Nintendo, so I
seriously doubt they'll charge more $200 for the 3DS--maybe $250 max. It just goes
against everything they have done in the past. The games could cost $50
each, but I think they'll shoot for the $30-40 range, because that seems to be the sweet spot for handheld games. In the 3DS specs, Nintendo stated that the card slot was for
both DS and 3DS games, and that the 3DS game cards will be 2GB max in
size. I'm sure they will have downloadable games too, but that will most
likely just be DSiware games or maybe VC (please, Nintendo?).
I like Leo's theory too. I wouldn't be against Nintendo going handheld console-only, but I don't see that happening for the same reasons Yoda mentioned: Nintendo makes too much money selling two consoles. Now, if Nintendo's next home console fails, then I could see them going that route.aspro said:

I think it is more likely that Nintendo will continue their low price points, however, they have done that in the past by trimming tech. The 3DS does not appear to have anything pared down on it whatsoever, so I think the possibility is there for them to make the value justification for higher prices this time around.
Again, to be clear, my point was there is still a lot to be known about the 3DS, not any individual possibility (like price points and distribution methods).
I also would love a single platform from Nintendo. It would allow for a higher price point on the 3DS and games and also solve the problem of how exactly a company follows up on the Wii. They may do this "silently" leaving the Wii out there and supporting the 3DS primarily, and then judging what to do on the home front depending on how the 3DS goes.
Edit:
The aspro accents.

I haven't listened to the podcast yet, but I can guess why. For many, 3DS is a lock - in purchase intent, whilst MGS5 Peacewalker isn't enough of an incentive to buy a flagging PSP.
I had no PS2 so I couldn't play Snake Eater, I have no PS3 so I can't play MGS4. It's like Okami getting announced for wii, finally, I can play it without having to buy a whole different system.
All podcasts need trains. Epic stuff.

I couldnt hear anything he said, I was just guessing.
aspro said:In the traincast, I think in the interests of timely posting Yoda used the master file. When the master file is used there are not individual tracks for each participant, so you have to amplify each segment of speech by hand (which is essentially impossible -- I've done it before and I'll never do it again).
If it's the master fair enough.
Oh, and forgot to say before: 2 man podcast with 1 person on each speaker makes it really easy to listen to.
Hey, you might know this. I want to add cover art -- is there a way to do that with Audacity?
I'd really like to add images through out the podcast, like timeline it... I know for sure Audacity doesn't do that.
You like the stereo effect eh? Usually the audio is so bad I get a volume boost by going mono.
If anyone else has an opinion on splitting the two men podcasts L and R let me know.

Listening now.
Leo?!
I didn't like the jetpack thing, it looked unwieldly. I can see how it would work with move, but not well with dual analogue.
Sorcery.... Zelda Fable-ish sort of game? Whaaaaaaaaaa?
The Heroes on Move is an awesome concept, sort of like the A-team getting together. The actual excecution seemed pretty lame to me. You run around in the third person and motion with a axe/bat etc in your hand.
Move pricing, even working out the price was effort. I thought they would just have a chuk/mote/camera bundle but then I hear that the chuk doesn't even come in this $100 bundle. So Edge was telling me it was like $150 and if you want a charging cradle $180?
Way too expensive.
I didn't mind the PSP ads. The wont be effective, they are funny as skits but they dont sell the product.
I changed my opinion on Butler, it depends whether his jokes have some truth to them or are just over exagerated nonsense. I quite like him.
LBP2 was sort of a bust for me. As someone who's played all of half an hour of LBP, I know the franchise as a wildly inventive platformer. What I saw at the conference was a minigame maker creation tool.
Twisted Metal, I'm unfamiliar with the franchise and the presentation doesn't do anything for me. I'm not a huge online multiplayer guy.
Sony conference, probably a C. It wasn't bad.
Nintendo conference. Pearl harbour Vader you crazy man.
Zelda was the low point, agreed. So weird.
Leo and the train
OMFG!
Zelda cel shading. I love cel-shading, all sorts of cel-shading, but the art in this game seems to lack something to me. Yeah Leo, MH3 I was expecting a game of huge scope and visuals.
aspro said:If anyone else has an opinion on splitting the two men podcasts L and R let me know.
That doesn't works so well for headphones.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI just realised that Nintendo had a 3DS Ridge Racer and didn't highlight it on stage.
Reggie should have aped Kaz and said, It's Ridge Racer, Riiiiiiiiiidge Racer!
Everybody would be cracking up.
Damn you guys talk about Zelda a lot. What's there to talk about? The on stage was f-ed up.
Zelda 2011. What kills me is that if Spirits Track hadn't have been made key team members would have been on Skyward Sword. Also Aonoma said that if it had Twilight princess art the game would have been done by now
Leo train again
Mario sports... ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh.
I want Camelot to make a home console Golden Sun.
You guys seem to love the kirby game. Must rewatch trailer.
No Rare guys at Retro, going by the interviews.
I wanted a 3D platformer like DK64.
The first DKC was good, I don't really like the rest. It was pretty cool in speed terms, nice graphics, nice animation. It played really well all things considered.
Epic Mickey Awesome. I love the art style, especially considering the initial screens.
