I will add you Rag later tonight. Be aware that when both people have registered codes you get a hollow heart next to the name on your list.

When you actually meet up online the heart goes solid and only then can you begin sending rude letters to each other.

Do you have WiiSpeak?

Nah, I didn't get the WiiSpeak, since I'd heard it wasn't really being implemented in a lot of games... that and I'm antisocial.Nyaa

I got it because Ravenprose had it and then he sold up!

Bugs, travo and I have it, but those suckers never talk so I dont.

I have a throat condition that makes it hard for me to talk for extended periods of time, and it has given me the voice of a 12 year old... so I've got that going for me.

It was sweet man. Thanks. I'll post some pics tonight. Getting to buy flowers at your town was great as well. I received a letter from you today, it had an anatomical model. I guess letters take so long because even though I have WiConnect24 turned on, I always shut down the system completely. I'm too afraid of overheat, my living room can get quite hot during these months.

Does this...throat condition (wink wink) involve ramming down throbbing penises? That could explain some things. Nyaa

I was trying to scoop up some more flowers before I came over but I thought if I didn't show up you might think something was wrong and log off.

Haha... nah... I don't know what the deal is.  I haven't gone to see a doctor, but I can rule that out as a cause.Nyaa

You should get that checked. Maybe you have something benign, and easily correctable. Do you get hoarseness after talking for extended periods of time? Raspy voice?

Allegic conditions? Gastro-esophageal reflux? Irritant exposure?

Yeah, pretty much all of those... my voice starts to fall apart if I talk for more than 5 minutes or so, my throat is phlegmy all the time and food doesn't really stay down.  It is like there isn't much of a barrier between my mouth and my stomach.  Woot!

I've been putting off seeing a doctor about it for about two years, but it keeps getting worse.

I definitely hate my own voice and hate hearing a recording of myself.  I think the microphone could be better, so that's why I don't use it.  If it's turned up, then I can hear my voice echoing and it's too loud for the other person.  If I turn it down, then it seems I have a hard time hearing them. Sad  I can never seem to get it right.  Ok GG, next time I'm on, I'll use it.

Well, it seems that it is a complex issue. My first advice would be to adress properly any underlying conditions that could predispose to hoarseness/secretion excess, such as gastric reflux and allergic diseases, before starting to think about specific larynx pathologies, such as nodules or polyps.

Regarding GERD, you need to consider a number of factors to adress:

  • Pay attention to your body weight, in case you have overweight issues.
  • Avoid foods with high fat content, irritants and caffeine. Common agressors are alcohol, tomato, fried foods, coffee and sodas, spicy foods, acid or citric fruits and juices/beverages and smoking.
  • Avoid eating at least 2 hours before going to bed. Try to sleep with your head slightly elevated compared to your body position.
  • These measures should be observed always, but more emphasis is needed during the first 6 to 8 weeks.
  • You can use common, OTC medications for heartburn/gastric reflux if symptoms are important/severe. Try to start with PPIs such as omeprazole or esomeprazole (Nexium). 20 mgs daily with water should be enough, for a period of 4 to 8 weeks, depending of the response.
  • Failure to improve after these measures should prompt a more careful examination, to rule out anatomical sources of the disease, endoscopy or manometry could be considered.

It seems that you could have an allergic component involved as well. If you snore, have frequent upper respiratory tract infections, or frequent productive coughing, it is a possibility. It is harder to give advice on this without more background. Stay away from irritants, they could be dust, pollen, air fresheners, or cigarette smoke.

If other causes are ruled out, or have been properly treated and the problem still persists, then its time to consider intrinsic larynx pathology.

Thank you Doctor!Happy

This:

"Common agressors are alcohol, tomato, fried foods, coffee and sodas, spicy foods, acid or citric fruits and juices/beverages and smoking. "

Makes a lot of sense... The three things I drink other than water are beer, coffee and tomato juice.LOL... and I am always eating spicy food.  My dad had thyroid problems, and I've heard that it can be genetic, but other than throat pain, I don't have the same symptoms that he did.

I'm going to change my diet to eliminate all those good things, and see what happens.  I don't mind going to a doctor, but since I've had the condition for a while, I'll try your advice first.

Anyway... back to Animal Crossing... I paid off my house last night and got to see my remodel this morning.  This game is radness.  My coconut tree died sadly... I was hoping to get a serious coconut grove going.  Oh well... it will come in time.

I am assuming you planted the palm tree next to the shore. Right? Plant it within 4 to 6 tiles beyond the shore line (NOT in the sand!) and you should be OK.
