me and my best friend (both heavy ACWW addicts) played quite dirty for a time now. Firstly the things you teach animals in your town to say!!! you cannot imagine what hilarious obsenities they would spill out ... the spelling had to be inventive too to overcome the cencor. then there was the custom tapestries and curtains ... the constellations, my god i'm cracking up just thinking about some of them. then there was the flirting and trying to 'steal' the other's best animals by trying to get them to come to move to your town instead. also that silly bitch who asks you to paint her a face ... OMG if she ever walked into anyone's town with the facejobs i gave her, I surely scarred some people for life.
so animal crossing ... yeah, not that innocent ;-)

Okay, I'm only joking. I loaned my DS to a work buddy of mine once, and he drew up a pot leaf shirt and put it in the clothing shop. He didn't tell me either, and the next thing I knew, half the animals in my town were wearing it!
i see this game for pre-order now on the retail sites i frequent but it doesn't seem to have the mic/speak thing bundled up. is that now going to be sold seperately in all territories?

The bundle is available on Amazon for the US. I'm not sure about the rest of the world, though.
Not sure if I will get the mic, depends if my friend does.
I GOT ANIMAL CROSSING Wii TODAY!!!
Yup, I got it in the mail late this afternoon. Impressions soon! 
I managed to put in a couple hours into it (about 4), and I'm liking it a lot. I moved in, did some lite work for Tom Nook, and bought a few items: shovel, net, and a fishing pole. I also made a Pac-Man Flag!
I've been an Animal Crossing addict ever since I first played the Gamecube version. Animal Crossing: Wild World on DS was even better. It a bit too early to tell if Animal Crossing: City Folk will be the best in the series, but here's to hoping.
The town itself is about two or three time bigger than the one in ACWW, and it has hills, streams, and cliffs just like in the Gamcube version.
The controls work very well. I prefer using the Wii Remote/Nunchuck combo, but the game controls great using just the Wii Remote. By tappinging the D-pad left or right, you can quickly select between your tools; you can also equip/unequip tools by tapping ing up or down on the D-pad. This is a very welcome feature! Some of the tools like the fishing pole and net can be used by doing gestures or simply by pressing the A-button. The gestures do work pretty well, but I think I'm going to stick with the button pressing. You can also look up at the night sky by holding up on the D-pad.
My only complaint so far is that everything looks too similar to the DS version. For instance, the Town Hall, museum, and all the shops look exactly like they did before, both inside and outside; Nintendo only improved their graphics, not their design. It's really not a big deal, but would it have hurt them to change the interior of those shops a bit for those of us who have been playing the series for years? I think of this game as Animal Crossing: Wild World 1.5 because it's really more of an expansion pack than a whole new game. Shoot, even the music is the same!
That's a minor complaint, though. Animal Crossing: City Folk is still a lot of fun to play, and that's really all that matters to me.
The only thing I dig about this game so far is that you can get a whole bunch of rad Nintendo items. Stuff like Midna's helmet...thinigie, Wario's hat (FUCK YEAH) and more.

No. I doubt I'd ever use it much, so I decided to save the extra money.
I just had an animal try to sell me a cricket that I gave them last night for 678 Bells! When I refused, they got all up in my face claiming that I'm not a good friend. Gotta love this game!
I've been using the Wii Remote-only to play AC today, and I'm actually starting to prefer it over the Wii Remote/Nunchuck. It takes a little getting used to, but it works just like a mouse. You can even do the Diablo II thing where you hold the mouse button (A-button) down to make them walk, and steer the character where you want them to go. You can also make them run by holding both the A-button and the B-trigger down at the same time. It works really, really well.
What is the text and dialogue like? Is it all new material or are seeing characters saying the same stuff as Wild World?

It works very similar to the touch controls, but quite a bit better, IMO. Picking up fruit is a lot easier with the Wii Remote than with the touchscreen. It takes a little practice, but once you have it down, it works really well.
The text appears to be all new so far, but there are similar topics.
EDIT: I just paid off my house! Woot! Nook is going to expand it tomarrow morning. I've put in at least 6 hours so far, and this game is just as addictive as ever.
