So cool. I am torn between getting it cheaper or getting it with the wii speak bundle. I would love to have wiispeak retro fit mario kart.

Let's see, how do I feel about this title? Well I am worried that it is going to be too similar to past games. I hope there are a few secrets in store for the game. I want there to be constant updates in items. And all new furniture as well.

Some cool customisation would be good, games like mysims allow you to contruct houses and things.

I also think an Animal Crossing channel would be badass, but if its anything like Mario Kart and its channel it will be too big to keep on the flash drive.

As someone who's never played an Animal Crossing game, sell me on it.  Why should I get this?  Besides the epic box art XD

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobile

It's an open ended game. It's not your typical objective driven game. It's like having a little world to yourself, almost like you were a kid again and could open some magical picture book that would warp you into a fantasy world every night. You have a town and lots of animal friends come to visit. The whole game is based around this quasi economy where you earn cash to spend on items, some frivolous, some for aestetics and the best part is arranging your workspace as it were, your house. You take pride in updating and arranging your pad and it has all sorts of nintendo themed items like a master sword for instance.

The game operates on a full year calender, so its almost like a diary in that you check it everyday to see what's new. Some of the best events happen in the autumn or Christmas, it uses the real world clock so for instance on new years eve at midnight there is a sign that counts down and fireworks and festivals. And there is all sorts of absurdity to the game, flying postal ducks, aliens landing, giraffe fashionistas. And then there are the communication aspects, 4 player online with wiispeak, you can have competitions between friends, trade items or just chill. But the part that interests me the most is this vague promise of downloadable items. Going to the shops each day and spending your virtual cash on new items is a small delight that will keep you addicted for months.

Animal Crossing is a game that can take a couple of weeks to get into and really because of the real time calender you have to experience many months with the game to fully appreciate it. At times it can seem pointless, at times like you are repeating the same thing. But it is a little virtual retreat to enjoy and if you treat it as a place to visit each day for half an hour or more, you will enjoy it.

It's surprisingly compelling. Even though it's not really something you can play for too long at a time, it's still charming. The KK Slider stuff always brings a smile to my face, even when he's trying to summon the devil...

Oh yeah, because its based on a real time clock/calender you get special events like a dog who performs songs only on saturday nights at a certain time. It makes the game have mini-events which you tune into. Also the world changes with the seasons.

Great description of AC, GG.

I played Animal Crossing DS nearly everyday for well over two years. I'd still be playing it if my DS hadn't broke. Sad It has an addictive quality that's kind of like an internet forum; you have check it several times a day just to see what's new. Happy

KK Slider is awesome!

Sadly, there's no Wii Speak bundle here in the US. I'm going to pass on Wii Speak for now; I just can't see myself using it that much since I rarely play online, but it is a cool product for those who do. I do like the idea of the Wii Speak Channel; doing video voice chats with Miis sounds awesome!

I'm sure Nintendo has a lot of cool secrets in store for ACCF. I remember thinking the same things about ACWW. I thought it looked too similar to the Gamecube version, but after playing it for a few days, I saw a TON of improvements and cool additions. I'm sure ACCF will be just as improved. Happy

Apparently there is a secret door in the city so I will see what happens.

I only broke my Animal crossing habit for Oblivion and that is an addiction in itself. I do worry about playing on a console and not a handheld. Part of AC WW for me was sitting in bed and playing it. It will be different on the big screen and sofa, less like that magical storybook world perhaps. But with all the improvements its easy to sacrifice that.

Yeah, I really enjoyed the convenience of ACWW too. I took my DS with me to work and school, and would play it on breaks. I'm going to miss that.

Resseti is awesome. He berates you for a very long time too.

Here's a Youtube video of Mr. Resseti going off on someone in ACWW LOL

Ditto. Specifically, explain to me why this game would be a better choice than Harvest Moon Wii.

I haven't played enough Harvest Moon to compare it to Animal Crossing, but from what little I have played, I'd say they are quite different. Harvest Moon has daily goals that have to be performed in order to be sucessful. Animal Crossing has no required goals or set time limits. You can turn on the game, and decide to plant some fruit trees or flowers or you could just go fishing. You can't fail. Animal Crossing is all about relaxation, talking to other animal residents (which move in and out of your town randomly), being creative, and having fun collecting stuff.

Well there is a big reason Yarcofin and that is  because HM Wii is shit. Get the GC A wonderful life version if you haven't already. Dodge the Magical Melody remake and the newer Wii specific one like the plague.

This news just in: A man known only as "Gamingeek" was arrested earlier today for allegedly blinding random people on the street near his home with a yellow, high intensity laser light; a laser so powerful that it can render a person blind within a fraction of a second. Police have stated that they believe this man may have been involved with many more random blindings all over London, and that he could quite possibly be the worlds first serial laser blinder. While being whisked away by police in handcuffs, Gamingeek yelled out to news reporters, "It wasn't my fault! Lego Batman made me do it!"
