Stephen Chow's ODYSSEY Scheduled For 2012 Release!
Back in July, we reported that Stephen Chow had started shooting his new film ODYSSEY in China. Like his 1994 classics A CHINESE ODYSSEY PART ONE: PANDORA'S BOX and PART TWO: CINDERELLA, the new ODYSSEY will be based on the famous Chinese novel A Journey to the West, which tells the story of Monkey King's journey to the west to acquire sutras from India.
Chow, who is the film's producer, co-director (with GALLANT director Derek Kwok Chi-kin), screenwriter and actor, has just revealed in a television interview that filming of ODYSSEY has been completed, and that the film is now in post-production and will be scheduled for release in 2012! According to Chow, ODYSSEY will feature a lot of special effects, just like his last few movies SHAOLIN SOCCER, KUNG FU HUSTLE and CJ7.
Gallants was awesome, Chow is awesome, I hope this film is awesome.
I recently watched Shaolin Soccer on Netflix. Fun stuff. My wife was aghast at the notion of me finding it funny.

That film is hilarious. Check out other Stephen Chow films, next up should be Kung Fu Hustle, there there is CJ7 which is kinda weak. Also try out the God of Cookery and the King of Comedy is really good.
A 24 movie is going into production next year.
But Len Wiseman is the director.
Also what in the name of God is this Nick Fury 90s movie abomination? I thought that movie was canned?

US Trailer For Zhang Yimou's THE FLOWERS OF WAR With Christian Bale
(Raise the Red Lantern, Ju Dou, Hero, House of the Flying Daggers) tells an epic story of love and sacrifice in THE FLOWERS OF WAR, starring Christian Bale and introducing Ni Ni.
The film, set during the Japanese invasion of China, is told from a young girl's point of view, not as a history lesson, but as an intimate, elemental and paradoxically universal celebration of the human spirit. Bale stars as a dissolute Westerner who seeks refuge in a Catholic Church. There he meets a beautiful Chinese courtesan who helps him rescue a group of schoolgirls from a terrible fate at the hands of the Japanese.
The film represents one of China's most ambitious productions, involving the recreation of 1937 Nanking built from scratch over a one-year period and the collaboration of one of Hollywood's most sought after leading men (Christian Bale).
THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO (2011) Twitch Review
"The worldwide phenomenon of Stieg Larsson's Millennium series has landed on Hollywood in the form of David Fincher's adaptation of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. While not without its story problems, Fincher's take on the material is another deftly executed package, loaded with tantalizing sights and sounds. There is a lot here to enjoy (and a whopping two hours and 38 minutes to enjoy it in), but brilliantly intriguing story -- or Oscar-winning Best Picture -- this, unfortunately, is not."
Reviewer has issues with the story.
I won't describe the plot as there would be spoilers.

The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (original title in Swedish: Män som hatar kvinnor – "Men Who Hate Women") is an award-winning crime novel by Swedish author and journalist Stieg Larsson. It is the first book in the trilogy known as the "Millennium series".
At his death in November 2004, Larsson left the three unpublished novels that make up the trilogy. They became posthumous best-sellers in several European countries as well as in the United States.[1] Larsson witnessed the gang rape of a young girl when he was 15. He never forgave himself for failing to help the girl, whose name was Lisbeth – like the young heroine of his books, herself a rape victim, which inspired the theme of sexual violence against women in his books.
Larsson writes, within the novel, in Chapter 12, "It's actually a fascinating case. What I believe is known as a locked room mystery, on an island. And nothing in the investigation seems to follow normal logic. Every question remains unanswered, every clue leads to a dead end."
He supplies a family tree explaining the relationships of five generations of the Vanger family.
With the exception of Hedestad, the novel takes place in real Swedish towns. The Millennium magazine featured in the books has characteristics similar to that of Larsson's magazine, Expo, which also had financial difficulties
AICN: MISSION: IMPOSSIBLE–GHOST PROTOCOL is the best in the series, all the more so in IMAX!!!
WTF?

^ That is the worst, wow.
Saw Sherlock Holmes, not as good as the first but very very close to it. Great action, RDJ and Law are perfect together. The story and pacing is kind of messy.
FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE Review
Director Tsui Hark is back in a big way after the excellent DETECTIVE DEE AND THE MYSTERY OF THE PHANTOM FLAME, which snagged him the Best Director prize at this year's Hong Kong Film Awards and now his epic reimagining of DRAGON GATE INN, which he filmed in 3D and will be screened - in China at least - in IMAX.
To sum all this up, FLYING SWORDS OF DRAGON GATE is a film with plenty going on, and thankfully it manages to pull off the vast majority of it in fine style. It has been great seeing Tsui Hark recapture his mojo and take Hong Kong Cinema back to a classic era, and inject it with such fun and vitality. He has brilliantly mastered the 3D technology and it would be no surprise to see him continue to experiment with it in the future. FLYING SWORDS is not a perfect film, but it attacks its subject matter with confidence and energy, and remembers first and foremost to be entertaining - which it most certainly accomplishes, in all three dimensions.
The IMAX had the Batman 5 minute intro, WOW! Now honestly I could not understand a thing Bane said, but his accent sounds right. The IMAX bass was too high and muffled everything. This movie is going to be great, Bat voice vs. Bane voice, who cant you understand the most. I will say that the sequence that takes place is incredible, Nolan is a master of crazy awesome sequences you have never seen before. Then they showed scenes from the movie, holy crap!!! Its mostly things not shown in the new trailer.
I dont think its as good as the TDK opening but that is mostly cause I didnt get what was going on and Bane is no Joker.
