Twitchfilm has a great feature showcasing the best Asian Movies of 2014, usually with trailers and blurb attached.

Part 1:

Part 2:

Just click the pics to read each one. Some sound right up my alley, Wood job sounds pretty funny and the director of Confessions has made an even darker film.... whoa.

Captain America: Civil War, Guardians Of The Galaxy 2, Avengers: Infinity War and more will be released in the UK before the US.

We're not 100% sure why Marvel keeps opening its film in places like the UK before they arrive on American cinema screens. But given that this news story is being written from just outside Dudley (an idyllic part of Britain, for those not familiar with its majesty), it's a trend we're happy to see continue.

And that's what's happening too. Marvel has just confirmed the 'international' release dates for the bunch of movies it announced last week, and with the majority of the them, the UK will be getting the films before America does. Here's the full list...

Captain America: Civil War

UK: April 29th 2016

US: May 6th 2016

Guardians Of The Galaxy 2

UK: April 28th 2017

US: May 5th 2017

Black Panther

UK: October 27th 2017

US: November 2nd 2017

Avengers: Infinity War Part I

UK: April 27th 2018

US: May 4th 2018

Inhumans

UK: October 26th 2018

US: November 2nd 2018

Avengers: Infinity War Part II

UK: April 26th 2019

US: May 3rd 2019

Two film will have simultaneous release dates in both the US and the UK. Thus, Thor: Ragnarok is scheduled for July 28th 2017, whilst Captain Marvel will land on July 6th 2018.

To our US chums: we'd be more than happy to share a drink with you were you planning a special trip over to Dudley to see any of those films a week ahead. We might throw in a biscuit, too...

Fans of the 1990s’ Spider-Man: The Animated Series, rejoice - the stellar voice cast are teaming up for new show War Of The Rocketmen…

For children of the 1990s, and presumably those who parented children in the 1990s, and anyone who just loves a good superhero animation, Spider-Man: The Animated Series is swathed in good will and nostalgia.

The show, which serialised Spidey’s legacy in 30-minute chunks, was undeniably excellent. We recall a particularly brilliant arc about Morbius The Vampire.

The cast reunited for a panel at Stan Lee's Comikaze Expo over the weekend to discuss the show’s twentieth anniversary, and announce their new project.

"You are the current avatar of this Marvel deity. This is our Iliad. This is our Odyssey," recalled Spidey-voicing actor Christopher Daniel Barnes, speaking of the responsibility of the role. "It touches something universal in us. When you get the chance to be the voice of that character, that means something."

He was joined onstage by Saratoga Ballantine (Mary Jane), Jennifer Hale (Felicia Hardy), Gary Imhoff (Harry Osborne), Rodney Saulsberry (Robbie Robertson), Gregg Berger (Mysterio and Kraven The Hunter), and Patrick Labyorteaux (Flash Thompson).

Ed Asner (J. Jonah Jameson) apparently sent in a video clip, berating Spidey in-character and questioning why anyone would want to attend a Spidey fan event.

Their new project? That’d be War Of The Rocketmen, which promises a retro and pulpy style, and will focus on a secret squadron of US spies during World War II. They will be crowd-funding the new show, and you can follow them for updates here.

Was just reading this about the Cancelled Superman lives movie

said:

Upon expressing his worries about the Superman Reborn script, Kevin Smith was allowed to start the script again, with the catch being that Warner Brothers could make whatever demands they wanted. Said demands became more and more ridiculous by the sounds of it, too. The project became Superman Lives, and, as you probably already know, had a notoriously troubled development.

We looked at the leaked script of Superman Lives in far more detail than this list format allows here. Some of the ‘highlights’ from this amazingly bizarre production included studio requests for “a gay R2-D2 with attitude,” a cuddly space dog and Brainiac fighting polar bears. Eventually, Tim Burton became involved and Kevin Smith was nudged out.

Nicolas Cage was on board to play Superman (who the studio wanted dressed in black and not flying), with Michael Keaton purportedly holding a role (which was ‘not exactly’ Batman, in his words) and Kevin Spacey offered the role of Lex Luthor years early. With more rewrites, kids being brought in to judge concept art, Burton departing to direct Sleepy Hollow and Nicolas Cage dropping out in 2000, the project eventually ground to a halt. Not before Warner Brothers had offered the director’s chair to everyone in Hollywood (including Michael Bay) and the starring role to Will Smith, though. Keep an eye out for the story behind this cursed production in an forthcoming film The Death Of Superman Lives: What Happened?

God,  the best thing to happen to the Superman franchise is that movie not getting made.

So imagine a non-flying black suited Superman played by Nicholas Cage with a gay R2D2, a cuddly space dog and Brainiac fighting Polar Bears.

Sounds amazing. Film of the year. LOL

Darren Aronofsky’s Batman: Year One

Warner played with two different ideas after ditching their original Batman continuity, the first of which was a prequel/origin story. Specifically, there was talk of Darren Aronofsky tackling Frank Miller’s iconic Batman: Year One arc from the comics.

There were to be some differences to the source material, namely Bruce losing his fortune, Alfred being changed into an African-American mechanic, a suicidal Commissioner Gordon and the Batmobile becoming a Lincoln Continental. Call him a sceptical bastard, but this writer thinks we might have dodged a bullet with this one. Sounds like an interesting story, but not much like the Batman we know and love. Seeing Aronofsky’s distinct visual style blending with Gotham could’ve been a treat, though.

Green Arrow: Escape From Super Max

Of all the would-be DC movies in the pile of nearly-made-its, this one sounds particularly interesting. Green Arrow: Escape From Super Max would have played with the cinematic superhero formula significantly – plonking Green Arrow in a high security prison (for a crime he, of course, didn’t commit) from the start. His quest to escape through hordes of bitter villains and high security trappings would have made up the central plot.

It sounds like quite a cool idea to us, like the Arkham Asylum video game with a cinematic twist. The opinion-splitting David Goyer was on script duties, and had claimed he had Riddler, Lex Luthor and Joker cameos lined up. Word on this one quietly died down in the years since its announcement in 2008, with reports of another Green Arrow movie (a straight origin tale) perhaps being the nail in the coffin.

Very funny, but some of this stuff may have worked. The black suit no flying thing would not.

You could have Brainiac fight polar bears in the artic, not a lot maybe a stray few. It would be over very easily but you know an energy beam roasting some bears to death would play well on screen. And Brainiac could unleash a giant robot spider.

I'm not sure about Scarlet Johanson in Ghost in the Shell. Everything I saw her in she is always whispering in every scene she is in.

Yes there are quite a few actors/tresses I just do not "get" the appeal of. Sure she's great looking but every movie I've seen her in hasn't been great and her performance hasn't interested me either.
