This will be a quick one as I just beat halo 4 and remembered I better review this one first. Basically Reach is like Halo's greatest hits. It got your tired and true Halo gunplay mixed with massive environments to drive vehicles around. For the most part you are doing exactly what you have done in past halo games with a few new things. One are the abilities which you can only carry one at a time and they offer a cool power like cloak, a shield bubble or running (why running is a special skill I have no clue). There are a few new vehicles, enemies and weapons and when I mean few I mean like one or two of each. The most coolest of the bunch was a space level where you pot a fighter ship and battle covenant in space. It controls great and with a little more effort it could be a really quality space combat game but as it stands it was a great mini game so to speak. The rest of the game has you doing what you always have done which is not bad it's just getting repetitive. The quality of the campaign stays high throughout but never reaches the highs of Halo 3 or the original. Of course the multiplayer offers a huge wealth of options and modes, the best bbeing the firefight missions which are like hoard mode. I maybe low balling the score simply cause I did not play the multiplayer much, though right now if you are reading this an don't have the game odds are you wouldnt be playing a now outdated halo online experience either. Graphically it was the best looking halo game until 4 hit. The story is decent though not as good as what when on in the halo trilogy. Basically Reach felt like a nice goodbye by Bungie even though they didn't even attempt to push any boundaries. |

You were using the wrong pad.
Halo is repetitive. This series gets so much slack when its just repeating itself again and again. Yet every installment gets mega super hype reviews.
Or just get it for completionist reasons and maybe somewhat enjoy it?
