Niiice.

Did you guys ever try the demo of the new Murder on the Orient Express game?

I bought but haven't spent much time with it.

I've seen the movie. If you guys just want to skip the game I can tell you how it ends.

Nah, I own it. I read the book not too long ago as well.

Yeah, the government channel and a commercial channel.  It was good, though. We were so bored that we'd take the TV apart and put it back together (amazed we didn't electrocute ourselves).  I told my brother, one day we'll be able to pause and rewind live TV. He said it was impossible. I explained we would be able to buffer the signal on some form of cassette (this was about 1983).

I was disciplined in year 2 because the teacher said, "Did you children watch Pam Ayers (poet) on the government channel last night. I said yes, in fact, we taped it. She challenged me, and I said, My parents taped it.  I was sent to the principal's office because it was fanciful that anyone at the time could own a video recorder, and I was lying. (I put all this together years later).

My Mum had taped the audio on a reel-to-reel recorder so we could listen to it when we wanted.

Fucking small brains.

The most shocking and dating part of this whole story is a poet being on TV.

If you look up Pam Ayers' work, you'll see how a poet ended up on TV. Very broad poetry. Here is what AI produced when I asked it to write a poem about you in the style of Pam Ayers (nailed it):

I’m gonna tell you 'bout Tom Towers,

A chap who spends his waking hours,

Not gardening or baking pies,

But gaming, with discerning eyes.

He’s got a podcast, quite renowned,

Where pixel talk and lore abound.

He’ll chat for hours, deep and wide,

On frame rates, shaders, anti-aliasing pride.

He’s not impressed by sloppy scenes,

Or muddy rocks in gaming greens.

“Those textures look like mashed-up chalk!”

He’ll mutter in his Aussie talk.

And if you dare to name Clair Obscure,

He’ll scoff and say, “The end’s unsure!”

“It fizzles out, it lacks finesse,

A narrative unholy mess!”

But still he plays, with furrowed brow,

Inspecting cliffs and granite now.

“Look at that boulder! What a joke!

It’s polygonal, and poorly woke!”

So here’s to Tom, with specs and sass,

A gaming gent of highest class.

He’ll rate your rocks, your quests, your lore,

Then podcast on it — and ask for more!

+1

You ever put something somewhere and think, “I’ll put it here so I’ll remember where I put it”? That’s the kiss of death for finding it again. I do it all the time. I’ll tuck my passport into a “safe place” so I won’t lose it. Six months later, I’m tearing apart drawers like a raccoon in a garbage bin.

It’s like my brain makes a solemn promise to remember, and then immediately breaks it. I don’t know who I think I’m fooling. I’ve got a dozen “safe places” and not one of them is safe from me forgetting it exists.

You know what never gets lost? Junk mail. I could find a flyer for a pizza place from 2003 faster than I can find my spare car key.

Sorry for straying into Robio's Andy Rooney bit. I just want to know if this is something everyone does.

The developer doesn't do a straight conversion of the story. Murder on the Orient Express had an extended epilogue with a new ending.

The game itself was modernised too, the time period I mean and had a secondary protagonist.

I kinda want to replay it right now.

There also an excellent adventure game called The Raven: remastered which has a very classic movie vibe.

Schweet!

Reading momentarily.

But seriously guys, check the demo for Agatha Christie Murder on the Orient Express.

It's in a new style and feels very modern compared to most adventure games.

New battery get.

Smaller, lighter, doesn't get too hot like the other one.

It's twice as thick but because it's smaller my hands never even come into contact or feel it.

So the 20w PD USB C is what you're looking for, it does positively charge switch 2 when in use.

Now I have 3x the overall battery life.

I could have bought a 10'000 mah one for even more power but I wanted something that wouldn't make handling switch too heavy.

Foolz review was good.

I don't think the game is as buggy on switch. Though the framerate would wobble. Really need to try it on switch 2.

I only played the Book of Unwritten tales 2.

It was very good but had a cliffhanger ending so didn't satisfy me as much as I thought it would. Still, it's so cheap I have no regrets from buying it.

After testing and seeing lots of Switch games improved on switch 2, I've come to the conclusion that Mclassic will still be an excellent tool for playing.

Switch 2 boosts resolution and framerate to their theoretical imposed cap. But not beyond, unless it gets a patch like Mario Odyssey etc.

But most games aren't patched, and have caps in place.

Doom for instance has a 720p 30fps cap on switch 1, but it uses DRS and the framerate isnt locked to 30.

On Switch 2 the DRS means it will almost certainly be locked 720p resolution with no drops and will keep its 30fps cap at all times.

So using the Mclassic it will boost the output resolution to 1440p which is better than 2k (I only recently realised that 1440p is NOT 2k, it's better)

And Mclassic won't have a lack of resolution to deal with, when the dynamic resolution scaling brings some Switch 1 games down to a soupy mess.

Also a youtuber showed that using Mclassic and the 4k Gamer Pro device together could yield better image quality that switch 2 does natively.

Splatoon summer artwork, just so good.

All the other artwork comes nowhere close to Splatoon art.

This is what you're missing if you don't use the Nintendo today app.
