I think it sold like 2 million copies. You got to remember just how badly the Wii u sold. I think it was less 15 million units? We're talking less than 10% of what the switch has sold. From that perspective, it was definitely a no-brainer to try and get every game they released on it ported over to the switch.
WiiU sold 13 million units.
I do wonder how they'll pace the release schedual for Switch2 though. The argument for creating one hybrid system was so that all their development teams could focus on one system, thus providing sufficient new releases all through its lifespan. That certainly worked, with a number of first party releases left for this year still. But that roster of games was bolstered by Nintendo rereleasing nearly their full WiiU catalogue to an audience who never played those games. They won't have that luxury this time around, and development will take longer and be more costly due to the higher fidelity.
You guys played Citizen Sleeper?
The sequel is getting great reviews and the first is reccomened too. It looks like a board game choose your own adventure thing? But it looks largely text based which has put me off.
Anyone tried it?
Did you guys dislike Metroid Other M?
I've been thinking about it lately. I actually enjoyed it a lot and thought an HD version would be cool.
I think this generation is going to have a lot of Wii remakes and remasters (Wiimakes and Wiimasters?). We saw them dipping their toe in it with Metroid Prime and Donkey Kong country returns. They can give them just enough polish to bring them up to today's indie level game standards and most people will be happy. It won't be quite as quick and easy as the Wii u ports, but it'll get the job done.
I played a bit of it and thought it was ok. Really need to get back and finish it someday.
It was not what I wanted but I actually did enjoy it and completed it 100%.
Much blurrier than Doom.
It's a harsh start for anyone who hasn't played the first. I do, on 36p but haven't been bothered to start it and being tied to one tv.
They do some form of recap but it's piss poor and disorientating.
Then you play for an extended period in a wheelchair. It just doesn't feel fun having your movement restricted, but I guess that's the point.
Gyro controls are decent but not as smooth as Doom.
The game was cool, I liked the perspective shifts and pace of movement.
That game is a ton of fun and will open for you soon.
The racist slurs are certainly unique lol
Take Two: We fully expect to support the Nintendo Switch 2, Nintendo hardware can support any audience
https://nintendoeverything.com/take-two-talks-nintendo-switch-2-indicates-it-will-support-the-console/
"We've had a longstanding relationship with Nintendo and we've supported the platform when it made sense for the individual release. There was a time when Nintendo platforms were really geared at younger audiences and that was reflected in our release schedule. Now with today Switch and potentially Switch 2, the Switch device can support any audience. As you may have noticed, Civilization 7 is now available on Switch. While we have nothing specific to report, we actually would fully expect to support Switch 2."
So the wording sounds like before they would only release select titles, when it made sense, but now the plan is full support?
I really think GTA 6 would be an incredible get, if it's possible. That would be a signal to other developers, like throwing down the gauntlet.
It might have to be a miracle port situation.
He can really run.
Is the main characters voice actor the same as the narrator from Bastion?
It's a bit cheesy and annoying.
