Started listening to the GU podcast. I was about to stop after Aspro mentioned Heineken beer. Luckily he justly called out that it's a full before I could turn the show off.
As far as vegan stuff goes: has anyone eaten jackfruit? With the right flavouring it mimics the taste of pulled pork remarkably well.
Finished Deponia, couldn't have been happier, except for poor Rufus. Loved it and looking forward to playing the others. It looks great, it's funny and I love the world and characters. It has excellent voice acting. Just perfectly suits my tastes at the moment.
Started Gibbous a Cthulhu adventure. Going from Deponia to this, jeez. So we're basically at the point where games can look like real animations. Both look great, I'm in 2d heaven. Good impressions so far, only 20 mins in.
I modded my 8bitdo arcade joystick last night. The joystick comes with a square gate, which made playing Pac-Man very difficult for me, so I changed it to an octagonal gate (easy mod). This much improved the joystick for me, especially for Pac-Man. 👍
Gibbous looks great, but the dialogue is only average. One of the main characters, my theory is that the main game designer created it as a virtual version of himself. But there's no sparkling wit here. The character always seems to have an extra few - mostly pointless words at the end of every piece of dialogue. If it was occasional it would be okay but since it's constant I just want to skip it, but can't in case there's a key clue in it. There's a lot of "funny" observations that just fall flat. Like "I only wear slippers at home, relaxing with my painting and my deadly fear of phones" this fear wasn't referenced earlier is never shown or explained and just makes you wonder how anyone can be afraid of phones.
