So far I think it's getting better reviews than Metroid Other M.
No, I think that a 4 year starvation diet of lacklustre third party titles is affecting it. As well as the system showing it's age. It's actually not very useful to look at snapshots of the industry on a month by month or even half year to yearly basis. Wii hardware sales were heavily front ended. The install base is very comfortably ahead of the rival systems. As you can see from the Japanese weekly charts relative to install base, PS3 selling thousands more a week or a month doesn't help when your rival is so far ahead. NPD perpetuates this view of the gaming industry as this monthly 100m dash to the finish line. If you look at the whole picture it's more like a marathon with ups and downs.
I predict that Wii sales will spike near Christmas, but honestly we are near the end of its lifecycle so tailing sales don't suprise me in the least. People who may have thought about getting one may even be saving their cash for the March 3DS release.
The Wii will do well in the holidays but it wont be anything like last year unless it has a price drop. This is a trend, the Wii is down, the 360 is the #1 selling console, this is not something that will magically change unless something changes, it is what it is.
Interesting. I think the game is still great but maybe they docked off points for thinking the game is unoriginal, cheesy writing, and maybe for repetitive backgrounds. I thought the backgrounds did have the same feeling.
They also gave Rock Band 3 a 9.3, which doesn't look good for Guitar Hero franchise.
And they gave Medal of Honor a 7. Gamestop probably didn't get any exclusive deals with EA!

They said the game was 4 hours long, if that is the case it deserves crappy scores no matter how awesome the gameplay is.
4 hours !
But I read Mikami saying it's at least 7-8!
And with no multiplayer.
Not good.

Of the moment, in the US.
Snapshot there is the perfect example of what I was saying.
How does this change perception? That is where the big change happens. PS3 worldwide sales already put the 360 in second place so 360 being the no 1 console of the month in the US means what? It may be a trend that is repeated for the next few months.
But Wii outsold everyone for 4 years and outsold the competion combined for well over a year, maybe two. So how does a monthly regional statistic mean anything? It means everything to us, because we sit around waiting for the stats like it's a 100m dash each month. I enjoy NPD but part of me is glad it won't be reported anymore. We'll still get either silence from the poor performers or shouts from the winners, as well as rumours and leaks from the gaf.
Wut?!
Wedbush analyst Michael Pachter says that the Wii sold just 254,000 units during September, which is down 45% year-over-year. That means Wii was beat out by PS3 and 360, which Nintendo can't be too happy about.
"Wii continues to struggle due to gamer fatigue and a lack of high-profile releases. (iPod Touch is) cannibalizing dedicated game handheld hardware sales. Expect weakness in handhelds to persist until the 2011 introduction of the Nintendo 3DS."
- Wii software sales (down 24%, and by over $385 million)
- DS software sales (down 10%, and by $90 million)
- music genre down 69% and by almost $350 million
"In our view, the Wii’s malaise is most likely attributable to the rapid increase in household penetration of HD televisions, with new HDTV owners anxious to embark upon an HD gaming experience. This partially explains why the Wii’s unit sales dropped into third place in September, notwithstanding a $100 lower price point and the bundling of two games with each console," he commented. "In our view, the era of standard definition gaming is rapidly coming to an end, and Nintendo may have missed the opportunity to revitalize its large installed base of consumers by offering them an HD version of the Wii before Sony and Microsoft encroach with motion control schemes of their own."

Gameinformer Kirby's Epic Yarn review 9.5 and the Second Opinion is 9.5 too!
Gamesradar review Kirby's Epic Yarn 9/10
Gamesradar says that Epic Yarn is better than New Super Mario Bros and Muramasa.
It means that the 360 can live on for who knows how many more years cause its getting better sales than it ever has. The wii on the other hand is on the way out, it shows that Nintendo needs to move first, as we all predicted, the Wii had to be the first console out.
There is no way Kirby is that good. Its cute and it probably does everything right but I bet its so easy a 3 year old can do it.
Fable 2 for free???
Follow the instructions on the first post.

Play magazine gave Vanquish a 9.3 so lets not get crazy.
Well it has that easy mode where if you choose to play dumb you can (they are trying to get the Japanese into shooters). So maybe that accounts for the short length. If it truly is 4 hours, then yeah, that could turn a 9 into a 7 right away. I'll await more information.
I have probably played the two demos for about 3 hours, and if I had my own PS3 it would be much more... maybe I am overreacting, its really fun.
Play? The same mag that gave Sonic 2006 a 9? Yeah let's not get crazy
Kirby says that Vader is pants.
Maybe I need to check out Kirby. I'm amazed at those reviews.
No one wants Fable 2 for free?
