EA Sports delayed NBA Elite essencially killing it as no one likes to play late released basketball games. Plus they removed NBA Jam from the deal, now NBA Jam will be a separate release.

Peter Moore says its a decision to make NBA Elite a groundbreaking game, blah blah blah.

That's VERY interesting -- that they changed their mind on NBA Jam.  That's going to be the real reason -- well good.

I'm nearing the end of Darksiders, it has been pretty epic so far, I don't understand the bad reviews it got from many outlets (unless it has a lot of technical issues on consoles, there are some on PC, it kept crashing during a particular section and certain areas have bad FPS and there's the odd unpolished gameplay mechanic, like the manual aiming for ranged abilities/weapons, but nothing major overall).

15 hours so far (and without a lame DMC4 style repeat of the same boss fights with a different character) and it ends with a sort of a fetch quest I guess, but it shouldn't take too long. The story is entertaining, the combat is fun and quite varied once you get the hang of it since your dude carries various different weapons at once and the three melee weapons you eventually get even level independently and have their own moves to purchase and upgrade DMC style, and a slot to fit various upgrade items you find on (like the fire effect in some of my pix). The level design has had some pretty cool moments with certain environmental puzzles that are satisfying to solve.

The boss battles have been great (with awesome finishers) outside the first couple in the very beginning which felt unpolished. Yeah it's a Zelda/DMC rip off but it's not like there are many titles in this style, and it certainly does everything really good, it shouldn't be bashed for it. It even has Portal puzzles later on (and a few boss fights involving them!), though you can only put the portals on specific suraces. Puzzles are generally clever stuff but easy enough to not get stuck and break the pace. I wish there was more use for the horse,  that boss was sweet.

Do we know how much it sold? It would be a shame if they didn't do a sequel or a new game in that style due to people considering it a poor man's copy of other games when it's very good with its own personality when all's said and done - *checks the Vigil Games website and sees they're hiring various people for Darksiders 2* - sweet!

Yeah it has a high overall score because quite a few gave it top marks but there are also quite a few (like 10) on the other end with like 60-70% which just doesn't make sense given the game's quality and length...

Woot, finished Darksiders, almost 17 hours total play time, not bad! Pretty epic final battle, yay for the horsie just as I wanted more use for it, hehe, it took me a while to figure out that fight but it was sweet. And then a Ganon-like final face off! I can't wait for the sequel, with more polish the game can easily stand among the best despite not doing anything innovative, it's just designed so well (though there are a couple of slow parts and minor annoyances it could do without). There are so many possibilities with the sequel and I wanna see what happens with many elements... If we get to play as the other horsemen, if the angels will hunt them (fuckers, after all this?!), what forces the council commands, if the arrival of the horsemen means the remaining sides fight the final war, and what's the horsemen's purpose in that, and if mankind will ever be restored, if we fight Samael, etc.
