Imagine if they had made a Wii version too? Shiiiit.
Yup. Its a Team Ninja game. This is Metroid Gaiden.
Then I'd actually play it. I've tried thrice to get into it and given up after 40 minutes.
Carmine has NO chance.
Move version is for you.
Yeah probably. Before I do that I'll go back and play the GC version (that I never had time to play back when it launched). Then I'll see if the problem is me or RE5. If I have trouble with GCRE4 then I'll know it's my issue. I need to replay it anyhow.
Little internet privacy tip. A routine internet search of my real name revealed my amazon wish list.
You can turn this off through your account settings at amazon (go into lists, wishlist).
I had previously made this private, so they must have changed some policy that I clicked "Yes, I agee" to.
I'll trust your word on it. The game does look pretty bad seeing the screens and videos.
I mean, the main character's name is Jet Brody for crying out loud!

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
My wishlist is under a different name, plus I'm virtually untraceable online.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileJet Brody's name is the best part of the game.
You were the last person I was worried about.
Fracture. In more detail, the geo-mod stuff is SO gamey that you cannot take it seriously. The ability to move the terrain up or down seems better suited to an '80's Commodore 64 game or something like dig-dug. it takes you out of the FPS-survival mode immediately and frequently.
If they saved it for set pieces or something consequential it could have been good, instead you use it to raise the earth so you can get on a crate. It turns what should be an awe-inspiring tool into something like a leaf blower.
That does sound more like a cheap gimmick. But is the rest of the game bad like the shooting, animation, level design, etc.?
If that stuff is solid I maybe able to endure some mediocrity. But it's atrociously bad than I'll stay away.

I can't really say, since I played so little of it. I'll beat it when I beat Overlord and let you know. (should hopefully be about this time next week).
Original reveal with artwork and game/world details, for those who forgot what it is. Action + booze bribery.

You are not sure, you are pulling stuff from your ass.
A quick Wikipedia search will net you the following
Yoshio Sakamoto confirmed the game began planning and early development in 2006, when he decided to approach Yosuke Hayashi of Team Ninja for discussions on incorporating the flashy Ninja Gaiden engine into a new engine to encompass his new vision of a 3D Metroid. While Yoshio Sakamoto serves as producer and scenario designer, Sakamoto confirms there are 3 designers from the Metroid GBA games that are handling main design with Team Ninja taking charge of the programming and 3D modeling, and D-Rockets handling the CG films.
Sakamoto is not just telling if they are doing wrong and they even have the GBA Metroid team doing the main design.
In the aforementioned interview, 1UP.com editor Jeremy Parish wondered if Other M would be too similar to Ninja Gaiden, given Team Ninja's involvement and how similar to Ninja Gaiden the trailer footage appeared with "anime-style cut-scenes, large 3D arenas for boss battles, and surprisingly brutal deathblows". Yosuke Hayashi responded by stating that while the new game will feature heavy action-based sequences, there will still be the exploration-based sequences characteristic of other Metroid games. Yoshio Sakamoto confirmed that Other M will feature story progression in the same manner as Metroid Fusion. Sakamoto states at the end that the collaboration between Nintendo and Team Ninja is "unlike anything that's ever been done at Nintendo; it's more than just a collaborative effort -- it's one group working toward a common goal"
He's right, everything we seen so far in Other M, it looks like a 3D version of Fusion. With Samus monologuing alot. Adam giving you power-ups, etc. Not sure where the Metroid Gaiden comes from, Samus was always an agile character.
Shush youLike when Zelda team members headed up Wii Fit? You were adamant that it wasn't the zelda team but you're now adament that its the Metroid team making Other M.
Wii version.

Btw, the Japanese Metroid Other M website has some footage separated in various small clips. Some sites have been posting compilation videos of these but mostly in bad quality so just click the "more" button in the action section. Story has some too, and they're all in 60fps, I think. It looks like they'll be adding more too, since if you click "up" or "down" instead of the "more" button it has more sections saying "more coming soon" or whatever.
