Well thank fuck someone else is online. It's E3 and I've been all alone for like 4 hours.
Natal event was legendary, the impressions upstairsin the updates. Hell
Wtf man, that camera sounds worse than I thought, and I wasn't expecting much. I just don't see how MS can sell such a pricey add-on that really doesn't CONTROL the games and won't be used as anything more than a compliment device to a control pad while playing your average game. And what's with the robes? Was that supposed to make the camera work better? LOL
I can really see this being a turning point between PS3 & Xbox in Sony's favor, depending on how much MS is leaning on Natal/Kinect. Sony has a real controller to play games, kind of like an extension of the Wii. MS has an extension of the Eye Toy.
A lot of the hands on impressions I read said that it's only being used in games where very broad gestures/controls are needed.
First thing I thought was that the white robes and shoulder pad lighting was to allow Kinect to detect people's motions properly. But I think it was just a stunt in the end, that backfired on them, badly.
So is Retro really doing Donkey Kong? I guess they really ARE the new Rareware....
I was hoping for a new original game, something adult-oriented. You'd think if anybody they would be the ones for that. I'm sure DK will be solid though.
At first I was like WTF? But when you think about it, Retro can do some swish visuals, fur mapping, great level design too. This could actually be a really sweet platformer.
Platform games were my favourite genre, still are when they are done right.
How do they plan on selling this? So far it looks like one of the most flop worthy add-ons in quite awhile.
It depends on the price. The cheapest rumour I have heard is $100, then other rumours peg it as anything up to $200, this is in European terms. I thought it would be £30 which is like $45.
If MS are betting on Kinect re-invigorating the 360 for another 5 years, well good luck to them. I would say that consistent quality software would do that, regardless of Kinect.
They sell white ponchos at Disney World.
They don't come with a Kinnect though. . . but they are used by middle aged women so it's pretty much the same demographic.
But they are see through and don't have shoulder pads.
No they do, but these women sold the good ponchos for crack and took these in exchange. Bunch of whores.
