Pachter - Nintendo may steal the show with 3DS
If the rumors are true, they absolutely will. I can't wait.
Yeah we did, a couple of weeks back. Very generous. This guy is absolutely loaded.
And I think it's time for another argument....
A portion of a user-submitted question and answer session with G4...
User: If you could have one game company release any game you requested, what would it be?
G4: More than anything we like to see interesting new IPs. The games that have gotten people the most excited around here are game changers like LittleBigPlanet and the first Gears Of War. But if we had to pick a game, then we would want BioWare to make an RPG based on the Zelda series. Nintendo waters down their RPGS whereas BioWare excels at fleshing out an RPG into a 80 hour game. It would be Zelda but for a more mature gamer.

Reminds me of the Simpsons where they focus test Itchy and Scratchy:
Back with the focus group...
Man: How many of you kids would like Itchy & Scratchy to deal with real-life problems, like the ones you face every day?
Kids: [clamoring] Oh, yeah! I would! Great idea! Yeah, that's it!
Man: And who would like to see them do just the opposite -- getting into far-out situations involving robots and magic powers?
Kids: [clamoring] Me! Yeah! Oh, cool! Yeah, that's what I want!
Man: So, you want a realistic, down-to-earth show... that's
completely off-the-wall and swarming with magic robots?
Kids: [all agreeing, quieter this time] That's right. Oh yeah, good.
Milhouse: And also, you should win things by watching.

It has John Davision, Brian Crecente, Jeff Gertsmann, Adam Sessler, Geoff Keighly and more all chatting about what they think will be at E3.
So sad.
Little Kings Story and No More Heroes are great new IPs and NMH2 and LKS are actually awesome games too.
Can't people people don't buy stuff like LKS.

I can believe it. It was a tough sell from the beginning. RTS aren't big sellers on consoles in the first place, and this was one that was sort of bending the genre somewhat. Plus in North America it got pushed back so that it launched within a week of Wii Sports Resort. That didn't help matters. I still think it could do well though.
This is a game that very much needs a "greatest hits" type release at the right time of year when there's a lull in the Wii's releases. If it gets put out accompanied with copies of all the steller reviews I could see it getting some more attention. It's also the kind of game where I could see a lot of the gaming media getting behind and saying "don't miss it this time around!!"
I know where this place is located. Not real close to me though. That's about 150 miles or so. Little bit further than I'd be willing to go, though I am in that area once or twice a year. Maybe I'll check it out then.
Shut your filthy whore mouth and get to the Hobo Gourmet Kitchen nao.
Well if you're going to be like that the game sucked!! And if Marvelous said "help us promote this" I'd say "piss off and bring me a game worth a rat's ass like one of those fishing gamings that you like so much!"
Here's a thought.
I think/thought that if 3DS was as powerful as the PS3/360 no one would invest in making games for it.
But if it were on that level of power and if the storage medium allowed it. Do you think 3rd parties would port their 360/PS3 games to 3DS?
I can't even believe I'm asking this question, no way can this thing be that powerful right?
And no, 3DS aint gonna be that powerful. The most powerful netbooks don't come close to such specs, and they're huge compared to a DS. As for actual handhelds, like the new iphone, they got even lesser specs. Still, if it matches last gen stuff, or the Wii, that's gonna look very impressive on small screens (PSP isn't quite to PS2 level most of the time, and PS2 itself had little ram so usually worse textures than other systems).
I don't get why Marvelous sold off their European branch for quick cash when it's where most of their money came from, at least for games like LKS and Muramasa. Sequels hopefully include a LKS2, hiring some ex-CING...
As for NMH2, I think it could have done tons better with better publishers. I thought Ubisoft would have promoted it more after the success of the first but instead they treated it like shit and did the European release way too late. It was practically sabotaged. Perhaps they hoped people would buy Red Steel 2 instead?
