Awesome news. Look forward to finally checking this out. Unfortunately I already own Bit.Trip.Beat and Nyx and I'm not verly interested in My Life as a Darklord. Hopefully it'll be expanded quickly.
Why only to january 16th though? This is typical Nintendo. They have DS downloads only its the same 5 titles each week or they remove the good ones.
There should be a demo for nearly every damn DS game released permenantly on there for people to try, same with VC and WiiWare games.
Getting sick of the limitations they put up.
At leas the demos sound like good games, I've finished downloading them all so I will try them later.
I understand why Nintendo is doing it this way, but I don't necessarily agree with it. The point of offering demos is to spark interest and create more sales. It seems that Nintendo has selected 3 good games that may not have sold to their full potential. So if after 2 months these 3 games haven't seen a big enough sales spike then the test is over and this will go away. Fortunately WiiWare sales are very easy to track, and if any of these games start to show in the top 20 titles again (currently none of them are in it), then it's safe to say this will be a success and continued.
My biggest concern is that these 3 games just aren't enough. They really should have offered at least double this. Plus, Bit.Trip.Beat actually sold pretty well. Not World of Goo good, but tt stay in the Top 20 WiiWare titles for several months. I'm not sure this was the kind of game that really needed to be featured for this expirment.
Did some more updates. Godamn mother******* NSMB keeps getting good reviews.

We have our first Chinatown wars PSP failure info buried within a PSP Go article.
Heavily promoted titles like Gran Turismo, Motorstorm: Arctic Edge, and Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars have failed to reach the top 20 all-format chart. With an installed base of nearly 16 million systems in the United States, it is disconcerting that only one PSP title, Dissidia: Final Fantasy from Square-Enix, has made it into the top 20 games for any given month during the past year.
The PSP version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars is particularly troubling. The PSP has played host to both Grand Theft Auto: Liberty City Stories and Grand Theft Auto: Vice City Stories, and each has sold particularly well. Yet in its launch month Chinatown Wars didn't even make the PSP software top 10 list at retail – it placed somewhere below #10, the PSP version of LEGO Batman.
While it is possible that some of the PSP's retail sales have moved to downloads through the PlayStation Store, we think it unlikely that those sales are the key reason for the weak retail performance.
I don't like to play the "anti-Nintendo media bias" but there was a shitstorm of press when the DS version of Chinatown Wars only sold 200K copies. Media reaction to the much worse sales of the PSP version should be telling though.
As far as PSP sales go, I think ultimately nothing sells because it's a very easy system to hack/mod and play copied games on. And it tends to attract a demographic that has the knowledge to do it. I mean go to any bit torrent site and the number of people seeding and downloading PSP games is insane. There's already copies of Little Big Planet for the PSP out there.
You know what be funny, if they ported over every low selling Wii game and saw how it sold on other systems. I would love to see Conduit on 360 and PS3 and seeing the sales![LOL](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
Or Madworld picking up another 3k sales
Okami bombed on a platform with 100 million userbase. No one blamed PS2.
Spyborgs would clean house!![LOL](/tiny_mce/plugins/emotions/img/smiley-laughing.gif)
---
Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI would love to see Spyborgs on other systems.
Punishment all round.
I believe they blamed the next-gen transition for Okami on PS2. Yet God Of War 2 came out same year and sold great so funny that it didn't effect that game.
The problem with the games they put on Nintendo consoles and then blame the userbase for not being mature enough, has always been one thing; the games are too quirky [okami],niche [madworld] or just not that great [conduit], for their own good.
These are not mainstream blockbuster games. The one franchise that was, and moved to Nintendo platforms with the same effort it got elsewhere, was RESIDENT EVIL. And it did very well and continues to. So I don't understand why people just don't get it.
You can't throw an average game out there and expect it to be some kind of proving ground just because its MATURE. And you can't expect some oddball game to sell like Mario because "Nintendo gamers are different".
People want high-production, well made games with appeal. Just like they always have, no matter what system its on. Just so happens that Nintendo's own games, as well as 2nd-parties, have been mostly the only ones providing that since the N64.
I know, and people are still making spin offs and wondering why they dont sell. Or making poor brother ports of multiplatform games and wondering why they dont sell as much.
Dead Space Extraction is a WTF success non-story. The first game was considered a sales disaapointment at the time, slowly building sales across (2) platforms to over a million. So they do a spin off, a prequel to a game that isn't even on the same platform AND they change the gameplay to a casual friendly game.
Compounded with zero marketing spend.
Then they wonder why PS3/360 owners who like Dead Space, all one million of them, don't buy Extraction.
And they assume that all these Dead Space 1 fans own Wii? Wut?

Extraction is in a class all its own in the world of "what the hell were they thinking?" for all the reasons you stated. I'm still confused how it was signed off on. At some point this conversation was had:
"Let's take an untested franchise that didn't set the world ablaze quite like we wanted and make a prequal to it. Now let's put it on a completely different system than the one it was originally on, but we need to completely change the game mechanic to it. And once we make it, we won't promote it. . . and then we'll use that game as a benchmark to decide future games we make for the system."
And as bad as it is.... someone said, "BRILLIANT! LET'S DO IT!!"
A retail listing reveals Motion Plus support for the game, allowing you to directly slash away at your foes. But don't worry traditionalists! The game will also include Classic Controller support, which means buttons for those who prefer it.
Originally announced last year as Dynamic Slash, Zangeki Reginleiv (don't worry, we don't know how to pronounce it either) is a tie-up project between Nintendo and EDF developer Sandlot. The game promises large scale battles against enemy forces, and so much violence that it's been given Nintendo Japan's first D rating (that means 17-and-up).
Other known features include two selectable characters with unique attacks and weapons, a selection of over 300 weapons, and online cooperative play for up to four. Nintendo will be footing the bill for the online play.
So far, everything we know about Zangeki Reginleiv is through retail leaks, as Nintendo hasn't given the game a formal announcement. A Japanese release is set for February 11, well after the year end sales rush, but let's hope Nintendo is festive enough to share official screens and details with us some time this year
Funny but true. This is why I dont understand the decisions publishers make.
Eurogamer Darkside Chronicles review
"Technically, The Darkside Chronicles stands up alongside the best that the Wii has to offer - beautifully rendered environments are complimented by a procession of superbly recreated enemies. The boss sections are an absolute delight. With vast hordes of foes filling the screen, a quickfire re-imagining of some of gaming's most viciously memorable sequences is offered up for our delectation. Even if you missed out on certain portions of the sprawling Resident Evil timeline, it's hard not to be seduced by what is an undeniably first-class on-rails shooter."
Still hobo time for me.
For all the improvements they made in regards to things like trying out new games, it's kind of refreshing to remember that ultimately EA is still run by morons.
