Could Hard Gay take Fedor?
Out for dinner?
No offense, but that was seriously like one of the worst movies I've ever brought and/or seen (Z.O.E. Dorloros is still #1).

They are both so awesome that they can't coexist in the same dimensional plane.
I might start looking for some HG outfit to frolick around yelling "Hoooo!"
Battle royale? It got really great reviews.
The BBC said:
This is a heart-stopping action film, teaching us the worthy lessons of discipline, teamwork, and determination, but wrapping them up in a deliberately provocative, shockingly violent package.
EFilmcritic says:
A modern classic about the folly of violence.
Catapults you from the cinema in a state of breathless disbelief.
Channel 4/filmfour which is a major UK channel says
A wonderfully exciting, incredibly idiosyncratic actioner.
I love this movie. What didn't you like about it specifically?
No oldboy yet GG, as I said it would be a while.
What is going on here?
Now thats a news story, *starts to oreder RE comics*
GG is hard for Hard Gay and Ask a Ninja is being ignored
The usual, Hard Gay, Fedor, GG arguing about some weird movies that nobody saw.
It was just horribly directed and excecuted as well as completely unrealistic.
(Highlight the bottom for Info, but Beware it contains major Spoilers)
Okay so first of it was just unrealistic as hell. For some examples people could get shot like 20 times and not die immediatly. A perfect example is at the end when the "coach" got shot by a wave of machine gun bullets *twice* and is pretty much laying their. He hears the phone, gets up and walks perfectly as if nothing even happened (personally I thought that he had a bulletproof vest on). Then he talks on the phone for 20 seconds (and again nothing seems to be wrong) then he throws the phone, shoots it, then does the classic dying montage where he relaxes his body, lays his head to his side, and makes that "Uhhh" sound. And stuff like this happens constantly throughout the entire movie. There is also the execution. Now I can bring up multiple things with this but I think towards the beginning would be the best example. During the screening of the rules and what not the transition from screening to the executions where just iffy. I can't really put my word on it but they were just sudden and not in a good surprising way. There is also the premise itself, I mean the kids are suppose to be routy and bad, but Xing out that one kid who knifed the teacher in the beginning they didn't seem bad at all. Hell at times I didn't even feel like I was watching a movie from and taking place in Japan because they reminded me of all the kids I know here (which shouldn't be out of the ordinary). I mean how are these kids bad enough to enter a Battle Royale? Why put the school in that loto hat in the first place? I could go on but I think you understand my points for me not enjoying the film. Maybe I have to watch it twice?
That saying there are some things I enjoyed. The first quarter of the movie was unrealistic sure, but it was very fun to watch if that makes sense. And I did enjoy the main characters (though they could've been more developed) and that badass transfer student with the carrot hair.
And I know that some movies I enjoy aren't realistic (Escape From series?) but they fall into more of the camp class as well as the "that's the point" (I.E. Escape from series is suppose to be like those chessy 80's action flicks). But Battle Royale's parts were just ridiculous to me. I mean they were like Snake surfering that tidal wave after his leg getting shot ridiculous, neither fun to watch or so bad that it's good they were just like...what?

Never change Insert Coin.
I don't think it was ever meant to be realistic. I would class the movie as high melodrama. But that sort of basic almost bludgeoning melodrama just keeps racheting up the emotional intensity IMO.
I think the point of the battle royale system is that a class is chosen at random from all over japan.
Snake surfing the tidal wave? Damn escape from LA.
I have the watch it twice phenom with a number of films. On first viewing I didn't really like any of Zhang Yimou's wuxia trilogy, Hero etc. I also didn't like Tales from earthsea on first viewing. I loved Oldboy first time through, but only realised its true greatness second time through.
You never got back to me on Howls Moving castle? You didn't watch the english dub did you?
Haven't found it. Only spanish dubbed one. That'll make do.
Can I ask, why is no one here buying or owning Mario Kart?
I really don't understand as it's a popular series and IMHO the wii version is the best yet. Online matches could be fantastic with us all online. I see a ton of guys here with smash but hardly any with Mario kart. You don't even need friend codes or any shit, you just click and the wii sends a PM of sorts to the recepient who then just clicks and it registers automatically.

EA ON BOOM BLOX - I highlighted the WTF moments.
BIZ: How has the market responded to Boom Blox and does it change your strategy internally to re-examine who you're targeting?
KV: This has been a great release for us. Internally, we had to work against our target consumer much harder than we've ever had to because we have an organization that markets and sells to core gamers better than anyone in the industry and has not had much experience with a kids property. I was very much looking at consumer press like getting Steven Spielberg on the front page of USA Today or a big article in a parenting magazine. Those are huge events for communication around this game. Those are not things historically EA has looked for. We didn't allow pre-orders because we didn't feel like that's where our dollars are best served. We spent money in-store on signage and things that draw attention to the product for a mom that shops with her kid. We really focused our efforts on this eight to 12-year-old kid that wants to play this cool, innovative Wii game. I think we delivered on the marketing assets, our world-wide sell-in and our initial sell-through.
***
No wonder this game only sold 290'000. This is how EA's marketing turds see the game. A "kids property with adverts in a parenting magazine that a mom has to buy for her kid"
WTF? This is why there was NO advertising and why it sits and sort of blends in with all the shovelware in a games store with the cover and nothing else. Where the hell was the promotion? Hidden in parenting magazines? Christ this game deserves better. WTF EA?
I'm going to buy that game.
And the reason nobody owns Mario Kart is because it sucks.
JK. I haven't touched a Kart game in ages.
Well, for me I'm not at a time where I'd be buying new, full-priced games right now. Also, I would have needed a really good reason to get this one, and I didn't really see it. I guess Mario Kart DS pretty much finished off my need for Mario Kart for a long while.
Playing with friends online would have been nice, though. Randomly on DS sucks
I understand the reasons to watch the original Japanese voices in most cases, but of all the films, the Miyazaki movies have great english dubs. I don't really see a reason to be object to it, unless Howl's Moving Castle is an anomaly and is poorly done.
