Wish I could watch the treehouse. I want to see the games and I really want a Prime 4 release date. Probably Fall.
I went over the footage and Prime 4 has the best textures of any video there.
Just the increased RAM makes more of a difference than most else.
I hope other games get finished with higher quality textures. So weird there was no DLSS at all in any game shown. I wonder if it's something they will enable just before a game releases.
Eurogamer did an article on Switch 2s price, comparing it in regions and adjusting it for inflation.
I've posted the whole text in the Switch 2 thread but here's the main takeaway for me:
Eurogamer said:
Still, accounting for inflation, the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle works out cheaper in the UK than the original Switch with a copy of Breath of the Wild in 2017.
To directly compare the consoles alone, £280 for the original Switch works out at £367.40 today with inflation, still cheaper than Switch 2. However, throw in the big launch game and it's a better deal - an original Switch with a separate copy of Breath of the Wild cost £340 at launch in 2017, which works out at £446.13. That's pricier than the Switch 2 Mario Kart World bundle.
Over in Europe, the Switch 2 console costs €469.99, or €509.99 for the Mario Kart World bundle. That's equivalent to the cost in the UK.
It's a different story in other parts of the world, however.
I received my Atari 7800+ and a sealed copy of Frenzy. I haven't opened either up yet but I'm a bit surprised that the 7800+ console was heavier than I'd expected.
Also Frenzy, which was never released back in the day, looks exactly like a 1989 7800 release. This will be the first sealed 7800 game I've open in over 30 years.
I ordered a brand new set of CX30+ Paddle controllers from Atari too. I should have them in a few days.
This almost feels like getting a brand new console except the price is reasonable, lol.
Switch 2 Mario Kart bundle is only availible in limited quantities while stock lasts.
Nintendo is sending out invitations to pre order this system only if you meet certain requirements.
You save a good chunk of money if you get the bundle, so try and pre order as soon as you can.
I don't know what I'm going to do. I was waiting for amazon and I registered my interest, but it seems to be sold in conjunction with the uk Nintendo store and says I would have to meet these requirements to even get an invite to preorder and that means having an active switch online membership
I Just used the 7 day free switch online trial so it will be active for the 8th when preorders start. Hopefully the 350 hours i poured into Snowrunner will boost my playstats and make me.eligible for invitation.
Seriously, don't make fun of what you don't understand. Those dial controllera are to this day some of the best controllers ever made. You can't really play a game like arkanoid or breakout or kaboom properly without one. Bit.Trip.Beat would have even been better with a dial controller.

Can't I just detach and use the volume knobs on my car radio to play those games?
It's kind of funny the uproar against the $80 switch 2 cartridges. I can't say I'm happy about it either, but when I start to get angry with it, I recall spending $75 for a copy of Chrono Trigger in 1995.

Yeah, I recall paying $100 for Street Fighter II and $115 for Chrono Trigger for the SNES back then as well. That was Canadian by the way. Don’t even mention the price of those Neo-Geo cartridges either.
There are differences though. Those were more expensive to produce given their format. Games didn’t sell as many copies as they do today. Also now they sell digitally as well so they get more money off those sales. It’s just when you see a game like Mario Kart 8 Deluxe sell over 60 million copies it can be difficult to rationalize that they need to charge more for the sequel.
I checked the list of switch 1 games with backwards compatibility problems on Switch 2.
Out of everything there's only a few I own that bother me:
Dex
Elderand
Doom Eternal
The Journey Down trilogy
Dust and Elysian Tale
Saints Row 4
With Nintendo's new console price, I can't help but wonder how much a PS6 would cost if tariffs are still in place when it launches.
Wait, how much is PS5 PRO?
There's a Nintendo tree house in 2 hours today. 2pm UK time.
And one tomorrow.

I'll post anything interesting i see.

I updated with tons of stuff in the switch 2 thread, hands on impressions too guys.
Now I feel really old.
2600 paddle controllers are like early 80s arcade spinners for games like Breakout, Arkanoid, Kaboom, Tempest, etc.Oh you sweet summer child.
Are these those things I stare into at an eyesight test?
When I unscrew the caps, is there salt inside?
Is this what Vader uses to scan people's ball sacks?
So I'll post this here:

Begone, heathen!

On a 90s tamagotchi screen?

Then GC and Wii the prices came down to £40
Switch games here are supposed to cost upwards of £50 but you could always fine them for lower, big first party usually £40 to £45.
But you can get physical 3rd party games from £15 to £35.
I think I wouldn't mind the higher physical price if the digital prices were much lower.
But, Donkey Kong Bananaza is $70 physical. I think digital is less.
So even if we take the physical price and apply Nintendo standard -33% discount it will eventually be $47
Mario Kart is $70 digital, with the eventually discount it should drop to $47 too.
BTW 3rd party games are already cheaper. Street Fighter 6 is $60.
