Happy late thanksgiving everyone, hope you had a good day and are now buying a bunch of stuff you don't really need but have to cause it's Black Friday. Gamepass has been amazing, Halo is the halo I remember, feels great, it's a good omen for the full single player. I just finished this pixel art top down Zelda like game Unsighted, I'll post a review soon. I did get some games on sale like Astral Chain, not sure when I'll get around to that.

I saw the new RE movie, what a pile of shit. At least it looks and feels more like the games than the crap Anderson movies but this movie is just ameturish in so many ways, like a movie I would have found on a Friday night on the sci fi channel in the 90s. The characters are all wrong, the acting and writing is so bad. The pacing is bad, plot lines don't get developed. It's just a bad movie and doesn't have enough of any charm to make it fun.

In the video above (8:35), Mark Cerny states that videogames are now just entering a third massive graphical leap with Ray Tracing.

1. 2D era (Pac-Man, Sonic the Hedgehog)

2. 3D Polygonal era (Crash Bandicoot PS1, Uncharted)

3. Ray tracing era.

Interesting statement. Probably just marketing speak, but that's the first time I've heard anyone speak of Ray Tracing as being anything more than just the lastest graphical buzzword.

Maybe graphically but eh, the 3D era didn't just change graphics it changed gameplay. To me VR is the next stage after 3D. Nothing quite like being in a game and using your hands.

Happy Thanksgiving everybody. You're all welcome to come over for breakfast if you'd like. I'm cooking for about 10 people, and I have three.

Sounds good. I love green bean casserole. Damn, I miss it. I guess I could cook it myself, but that veers out of my beer and bag of chips culinary ability.

So is the Animal Crossing update enough to get you back to daily play?

The answer, for me is yes. If you remember City Folk aka Let's go to the city, Harvs Island is now a shopping mecca.

You can now much more easily get access to new items without waiting around forever for Redd to show up.

There are lots of new items, some in the shop, some in Nook shopping.

Nook miles has tons more stuff to buy to pretty up your town. Like a Tori gate, new fountains, streetlights, topiary etc.

Kappa Island tours feels a touch pointless at times but is still fun for the music.

Brewster now has a coffee shop set up.

The new first person camera mode is trippy and makes you appreciate the world more. Especially the museum.

Eventually, it will get repetitive, but for the moment this has been the one and only AC game I haven't sold after burning out.

VR can only be the next step when Sony launches their new VR set. For now, all hail Ray tracing!

I finally settled in on playing one game on my Series S: Oblivion. I played it all day yesterday, and it looks and plays amazing. It's running at 1440p locked 60. It looks quite comparable to the vanilla PC version now. PC version is superior, especially in draw distance, but it doesn't have gamepad support, so the Xbox version wins.

It's a damn shame that Sega GT 2002 will never be released on an Xbox Series console. Sad

Great matches, Archie.  I think that is my favorite multiplayer mode because of how chaotic it is. I tried to stay with you but that didn't last long.

So my 512gb San disk sd card came. I put it in switch only to find its actual capacity is 476gb?!

I can understand its fairly normal for a portion of HDD or sd cards to be unusable, but this means 38gb cannot be used which is fucking huge.

Is this considered normal or should I return this? IF that's even possible.

Read this:

For all the reviews saying the size isn't right (and thinking that means the cards are fake) you are not reading the description and you don't understand how hard drives, SSDs, flash drives, or memory cards are sold. This is an industry standard. Your computer reads things in multiples of 1,024... so 1,024 bytes is a KB, 1,024 KB is a MB... 1,204 MB is a GB, etc... But all drives are sold in multiples of 1,000. So if you buy a 512GB card, and do the math... device makers are saying that card is 512,000,000,000 bytes. But divide that by 1,024 and your operating system will see it as 476.84GB. Beyond that, you also lose a small percentage for the "file system" index on the drive. So you may see a few GB less even. In my case, I have a 256GB card, which shows up as 238GB, which is exactly as expected.

Wtf?

Where is edge? I bought Tormented Souls, the old school RE inspired game, oh man it's so good!!!! It nails the old school feel of RE games, full tank controls, fixed camera angles, loads of puzzles. It has no inventory management and the enemies are more silent hill like, a lot less of them and not really that interesting. Still the vibe is perfect.

Yup. Digital storgage manufacturers have been doing this since the begining of computing, sadly. It's intentionally misleading.

So is the missing 38gb still there and is being miscalculated by switch? Or is this a 476gb card mislabelled using creative math, as 512gb?

I hope that's not true but I got that feeling as well. People can't even discuss politics these days without getting so angery that they stay away from family and friends with differing opinions. Politics are not worth that price, especially American politics.

The latter.
