My mother has been playing Yooka Laylee, since I gave her my old PS4 after getting a PS4 Pro.

She is a huge Rare fan....her favorite games to try to play are Banjo and Conker. So I told her hey, this game is actually pretty much a new Banjo from the same guys etc. Her verdict is that it's "good, but I like my Banjo and Conker better" after putting like 20 hours into it. Definitive review.

Ark: Survival Evolved Dev Says The Difference Between PS4, Xbox One and Switch Isn't As Big As You Might Think

"Switch is not as powerful as a PS4 or Xbox One. Everyone knows that. Having said that, the difference isn't as big as the general perception would have you believe, "comments Ralph Egas to GamesIndustry.Biz. "In some locations you need to downsize a bit on the distance you're able to view," he adds. "But not as much as you'd think compared with Xbox One and PS4. Obviously, in terms of Xbox One X and PS4 Pro, that's a different story. But compared with the base platforms, Switch is not that bad."

news1-1.jpg

According to Egas, the real issue is the carts - more specifically how expensive 32GB carts are. So Abstraction has to find a way to make it run on a 16GB cart, without impacting the core experience. "It's a crazy ratio we're talking about," Egas reveals. "However, thankfully, there are a lot of opportunities for reduction without changing anything anyone will notice. Another thing we can do is do a cartridge version and then do staggered downloads to make the game complete. That's probably the hardest part. Finding all the new technicalities and quirks that you get with a new platform."

According to the developer, the studio surprised Wildcard by providing a version of Ark on Switch that "you could almost send for certification," when it was sent over to be shown at GDC 2018. Progress on the Switch version is going really well, and the team is on track to bring the game, in-full, to Switch later this year.

I have been playing Breath of the Wild recently.

I don't have a Switch yet. My nephews do and they have that game because my sister wanted it. They brought the Switch to my house and let me play. I'm currently in Hateno right now.

Downloaded the Metropolis Lux Obscura demo ob Switch. Played 10 minutes, was asked if I still like pussy and saw boobs, nipples and all. And we're not talking Mario nipples here.

Never thought I'd see the day...

Really considering getting DOOM for Switch now it's €20 off on the eShop. Someone give me a good argument to seal the deal. I alreadu topped up me in store credits, but for some reason I'm hesitant to pull the trigger on the purchase.

You need a game to end the Switch’s dry spell.

Well she used to put them down back in the day like most parents. But then I gave her an N64 for my niece and nephews to play when they came over...and she started playing some of those games with them. Then I noticed one day, she was playing Banjo by herself just because it was "funny and cute"....then Conker, Yoshi's Story, etc. So suddenly the games weren't so stupid anymore. LOL

This is the menu screen for the Genesis Collection on PS4 etc. So cool...it totally looks like a typical bedroom back in the early 90's.

Never thought I'd see the day...

So as to go so far as to quote myself, apparently this game was made by some guy who makes small, 'adult' games.  On Steam there's a 'patch' you can download from his site to add in uncensored explicit scenes.  This is also one of his games that features more gameplay and story than his average interactive experiences.  On a different, yet equally interesting note: the game costs as much on Switch as it does on Steam, so it's got that going for it.

Except I don't know anybody who had a TV/VCR in one unit until 2000 at the earliest when DVDs were the new thing.

I feel sorry for older people sometimes. Especially once they retire. They could be playing awesome games instead of gardening or reading the papers.

I didn't even notice that. I never owned one of those combo things...always thought they looked dumb.

It's sad, but I saw it coming from a mile away. Rare hasn't made anything worth shit since Viva Pinata. And that was a good while ago at this point...and even then we were amazed they actually made a good game. Terrible what happened to that studio. They should be one of the pillars of the gaming industry right now.

It's also one more dud in the overall Xbox lineup which is honestly pretty laughable at this point. If Crackdown 3 bombs....man. I think it's time for people to stop praising Phil Spencer like he's some kind of savior, because whether it's his fault or not, they haven't done shit with him at the helm besides make promises and launch a refresh. Big deal.

That will be our generation. But yeah, most older people waste their time doing stupid shit. Gardening is great though, if you have a good place for it. Very relaxing and kind of spiritual.

Been watching a lot of vids on youtube about the upcoming games from some of the bigger developers. Sounds to me like the next game from every studio at this point is pretty much going to be the last of this generation, and everyone is already working on next-gen tech and engines. Even Cyberpunk 2077 is rumored to be a cross gen game in development for PS5. So the next two years should hopefully see studios going out with a bang.

Also, I just saw Sega is remaking Yakuza 2 for an August release?! Holy fuck...I can't believe the rate at which they pump out games in this series. There's a new game every 6 months! I can't keep up. Kind of pisses me off though...why can they make a gazillion Yakuza games, but every other franchise gets the shaft? Yakuza can't be that big of a money maker for them...
