Saturn Shenmue...I honestly never knew this existed. It looks really good for a Saturn title, but let's be real the Dreamcast version blows this to bits. Production values look about on the level of Panzer Saga. Like someone said in the comments, THIS is why it cost SEGA so much $$$ to make Shenmue...they made the game TWICE! Otherwise, it probably would have cost them half as much.
Still, it would have been huge on the Saturn I'm sure....apparently this video was taken from the Xbox copy of Shenmue 2? They hid this video in there?

It looked really good for an N64 title....definitely would have been a step up from the PS1 titles..maybe in between those and Code Veronica somewhere. The only thing that looks bad to me is actually Rebecca....that outfit is just hilariously bad. Still, I'd love it if Capcom ever released some kind of playable compilation package that had all these unreleased RE titles.....this game, RE 1.5, the different versions of RE4...etc. I'd pay full price that that stuff.
Provinciano was able to pare down inefficiencies to the point where the game's original 128MB or so footprint now fits inside 4MB of RAM for the DOS port. All those space savings were found with minimal impact on the game's features; the DOS version is only missing a few secret characters and pseudo-3D minigames.
"I got down to where the game was really close to being 4 megs of RAM, and also where it was really close to fitting on a single floppy disk as an executable installer file," he said. "So that's where I faced the biggest challenges: when you've got to get your game down to 1.38 megabytes to fit it on a floppy, and you've got it down to 1.52, well... let's just say it took a very long time to get rid of that last few hundred kilobytes."
Provinciano, who has had experience with DOS programming since the '90s, said he also ran into issues finding good documentation for DOS-specific issues; resources found online were often inaccurate or incomplete.
"I ended up having to go through this old, old book that I'd saved—I'd thrown away most of my old, obsolete programming books—and I was actually able to use that to figure out how to do things like trigger interrupts to play sounds on the PC speaker," he said.
While the DOS version of the game is all set for a digital release to owners of the PC/Mac versions (through DOSBox or as flat files that can run from a USB bootstick version of DOS), Provinciano is holding off release until he can manufacture an actual floppy disc version of the game. Good news if you've been holding on to an old 486 in the hopes of someday playing a new game on the system.

This is a great breakdown of where software sales are at...its about Ubisoft but really, its a guage for the industry as a whole.
Sony did with the PS4 what Microsoft had done up until the Xbone. Make the best overall hardware to get the best overall multi-platform games, and have it focused ON games first and formost. This is what it takes to get 3rd-party support and to get most gamers to want to use your console as their primary machine. When you dick around with this formula by making your machine an entertainment hub with a fancy camera, or some kind of crazy controller attached to inferior hardware, or you try to make your machine a $600 box that's hard to develop on just to push your blu-ray tech...more times than not, you're going to be fucked.
Edge, the Saturn Shenmue video was also on the DC discs, can't remember if it's on Shenmue 1 or 2 disc though.
RE0 N64 looks pretty good, but amazingly better on GC.
Ubisoft X1 games sales are no better than the current 360 game sales. Wii and Wii U brings in 3% which is more than it should be, considering no new games from them. And it's up 2% on last year LOL.

The Japanese "Snake" bids farewell to Kojima Productions
A.Otsuka farewell to Kojima Prod
It is indeed Akio Otsuka (Japanese voice of Solid Snake) who has just put a statement on Twitter to say farewell at the studio:
"Kojima Productions was forced into dissolution but the team has provided all the necessary efforts to complete AMS V The Phantom Pain. I do not think exaggerate by saying that it will embody their greatest masterpiece. »
"Even if it is finished, AMS will remain immortal."
It always ignores what will in future turn Hideo Kojima and part of his team.
Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain will be released September 1st on PS4, One, PS3 & 360, then two weeks later on PC.

300 Euros
Unfortunately, theNEOGEO X is a complete piece of shit. Very poor emulation and hardware design.
I don't think any of those plug-and-play emulators ever do a great job of emulating the software. Not too long ago there was a Sega Genesis emulator that came pre-loaded with 30 Genesis games and another 30 low effort generic games like Solitaire and games like that. The regular Genesis games ran like mud. Namco has done a few plug-and-plays for their classic arcade games and even as basic as they are they're still not as good as they should be. Maybe that Atari plug-and-play console is decent. Doesn't get much more basic than that after all.
On one hand this is pretty cool. On the other, why? Who is this for??? Then again, this guy must have tapped into some kind of market. RCR was a neat idea at first, but after the first few releases I would have thought everyone who wanted a copy would have had it. And yet, years later it's getting physical releases and more ports on a daily basis it seems.
Ubisoft and Disney team up for Gravity Falls game on 3DS
I'm kind of curious to see how this will turn out. Gravity Falls is a surprisingly funny cartoon.Weird as all hell, but that's kind of what makes it good.
Different publisher picked up Devil's Third for North America
Still have some mixed feelings on this. Devil's Third never looked good, but it looked bad enough that it might have some entertainment value. NOA dropping it though, doesn't make it sound like it's a quality game though. I'll be curious what reviews it gets when it breaks in Japan next weeek.
Kojima Productions is no more.
. End of an era.
C 'mon, the new Ghostbusters doesn't look that bad. I'll be optimistic.
I haven't been optimistic about anything Ghostbusters related since that god-awful Ghostbusters 2 film.
