^Ok.
Walking Dead returns!
Yeah, same here. It's kinda sad really and makes me think I need to just subscribe to a rental service. If only Gamefly wasn't so damn slow.
I wish I wasn't like this too, but sadly I am. However, I do have to give some credit to Hyrule Warriors because that's the first game this year that I've continued to play even after beating it. I'm probably winding down with it now, but I've put in nearly 10 more hours in it even after watching the credits roll.
I've tried multiple times, but I cannot force the Gamefly model on myself. I always come across a game or two that I think is good enough that I want to keep it. Then I start kicking myself because it would have been cheaper to have just bought it outright. Plus I start playing games faster with Gamefly (they have a distribution center about 100 miles from me so I usually get games quickly), and ultimately I end up burning myself out and not wanting to play anything after a couple months.
Mario Kart is he only game this year that I've played for a month or more. That's only because you guys were online as well. I fear I'll have to pick a Smash up day one in order to enjoy it. If I wait two weeks or more, I'll miss all of my friends online. Well, maybe Iga will still be playing, but our time zones may prevent us from playing on a regular basis.
My problem with Gamefly is that I NEVER received any of the games that I wanted. When a game finally shipped, it could take up to a week.
Lately, I've been switching my gaming preferences to more open-ended games with endless replay. Best value, and a lot of fun too.
Yeah, I've noticed your gaming preferences have changed. I still enjoy games that last ten to twelve hours. But I often find I have a little remorse for spending so much. Dead Space 3 was dirt cheap, used, soon no remorse there. It really was a rental price.
I think buying the Metroid Prime Trilogy was the best value I've ever received for my dollar. My favorite game ever and it's two sequels on one disc. Games that I pick up and play at least once every one to two years, chock full of unlockables including the soundtracks to all three games. It probably the only game that I cannot depart with... Until the hd version arrives.
Woo! Borderlands the PreSequel comes out on Tuesday to show Destiny how it's done!
Now, Borderlands games have amazing replay value! Ah, good times with Leo doing the happy dance after our victories.
Having said all of that, I still want to pick up The Evil Within first. If it's a spiritual sequel to RE4, then I mpust play it.
I haven't given up completely on the 10-12 hour games, but I'm going to be far more careful on the ones I buy. I'll just fill the time between those big must-have releases with open-ended games, rather than resorting to less interesting short-play games. Price isn't as much of a concern for me as the fact that I have limited time to game these days, and I don't want to waste that time with less appealing games.
I forgot about Borderlands. Honestly I haven't even played Borderlands 2 yet, & that was one of the main games I was excited about when I built my pc a few years ago. Lol
I have both Borderlands games. They are good solid titles. Unfortunately, I find neither all that much fun to play.
You should've played with Leo and me.
Borderlands are Diablo-esque loot games, and the only game of that type I enjoy playing is Diablo.
I've felt like this about gaming in general, keeping up with the AAA hypetrain because everyone's talking about playing the same game upon release. Screw that shit, I'm over it. I haven't even cracked into the latest Resident Evil or GTA and I don't even care. I do what I want to do and I'm much happier that way.
Hypetrain > all.
I've never seen you playing the same game as everyone else. Unless it was Zelda or Mario maybe.
I'm just glad you're done championing the AAA hypetrain. Finally!
