Doing the right thing.
Two words:
Rainbow. Road.
The official "Leo is Tired" moment of 5/31/14:
I turned on the Wii U today to play some Mario Kart and I paused for a minute to look at the dashboard on the TV where the multiple tiles are shown that you can click on to start your games. I didn't pay much attention to it last night because I just started Kart up immediately because I was eager to play.
Today I turned on the system and sat bewildered for a few moments, looking at NES Remix 1 & 2, Earthbound and a few GBA Virtual Console games, and I actually thought to myself: "Wait. You can play the Virtual Console games on the TV?" Yeah. For a moment there, I was actually thinking the Game Pad screen was --REQUIRED-- to play the VC games and NES Remix. It's been so long since I actually played a TV Wii U game that I completely forgot. I've been playing a good amount of Earthbound for the last few weeks when I've had a few spare moments just laying in bed and it kinda slipped my mind that the Wii U was anything but a "tablet" based console.
Rainbow Road?
Dear. Sweet. Lord. I want the 10 seconds I was able to stomach watching that BACK!
I'll tell one major improvement in MK8 is less downtime when you fall of the track. The graphics are so good. I don't think I've noticed any flat textures at all.
Is anyone playing Mario Kart tonight? I know you said you were interested, Travo. I am deciding if I'm going to try and wait up until 9PM or if I'm just going to go to sleep. It's only 8PM, but I am sooo ridiculously tired, I probably could. By the time 9 rolls around, I'll probably be half asleep, but I'm sure I'll be fine to race and give you all quite fierce competition...
My son is going to bed early tonight. If you see me on now, it's him. I'll try to get here about 8:40-8:45.
Ok, I'm on now.
That was my first playing. It's Mario kart. It's better with a lot of racers.
That was so much fun.
It was. We have to get more of us to play!
**...'specially since I seem to be pretty good!**
Video incoming!
OK. MUCH better!
Luigi = Vader.
Shyguy = Travo.
Morton = Me!
Edit: I figured out how to lengthen and edit the clips! A better one is about 2 minutes away from being posted! I'll replace the older, shorter one!
Watch for Travo and I doing tricks off a boost jump, then me taking him out!
You'll see a bit of Travo parachute gliding, then boosting with a Gold Mushroom!
Vader almost getting off one red shell, but being taken out by Lightning...
...then taking out a Koopaling...
...then taking out me...
...but I shrug it off, do a couple of boost tricks and pull it out in the end!
Video doesn't appear on my phone or iPad.
What a --GREAT-- feature! If you have a YouTube account, you can upload videos straight from the U. If you hit the + button after a race, you'll save the race in your favorites. If you go to the menu you can 'Edit' the highlight reel in various ways: You can choose things like who you want to focus on, if you want to show a bit of everything, 'Action' or 'Big Hits' and then you can choose how long the video should be. Be warned though: a 1 minute clip took about 10 minutes to upload...
...but it's sooo worth it! I can see all of us having --A LOT-- of fun with this!!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=enYN1V47Wqw
Awesome! Thanks!
