TRU is selling it for $30 on black friday. It comes preinstalled with 80 games and runs actual Genesis games if you have them.

I saw this at Bed Bath & Beyond last weekend (you single guys will start spending a lot more time there once you're married). They had it for $45 or $50. It only has 30 or so genuine Genesis games, and the rest are just card games or generic board game kind of stuff. I was tempted, but there's only half a dozen I'd want. I could do better buying them on the VC (assuming they were ever ported there again).

If it had HDMI out that would future proof my Genesis collection. Otherwise it looks like a harmless enough purchase.  I can see Grandma's buying it (Oh look 80 games, Little Brent loves these TV games!).

I never played ODST, though. I don't remember Reach being that much different to Halo 3, which was the last game in the series I had played. Solid gameplay, bright colors, usual open areas spiced up with narrow corridors, the works. It had a cool ending, I'll give you that.

The Hyperkin Retron 5 has an HDMI output, and plays Sega Genesis cartridges. It also plays NES, SNES and Gameboy carts too. It comes out December 10th. I've heard good things about it.

Reach wasn't bad, just more of the same. I think I sold reach and kept 3. I have 4 but haven't played it yet.

IGN: Call of Duty: Ghosts - Current-Gen vs. Next-Gen video

I don't get this, it just seems like the next gen versions have better colour saturation and that they failed to properly implement lighting effects on current gen. Otherwise some minor environment fogging.

Sony PocketStation games to return on PlayStation Vita

I remember being so incredibly pissed off that this never came out in the West. EGM was always showing how it worked with Chocobo Raising for Final Fantasy or how you could train your fighters to become stronger is Street Fighter Alpha. All I could do was think "I NEED THIS" and ultimately be disappointed time and time again when I'd go to Funcoland (Gamestop before it was Gamestop) only to have the dork behind the register tell me this doesn't really exist.
