In fact, I love how Borderlands makes it so easy to jump in and out if someone else's game.  I think if someone has a problem with others joining in, then it would be best for them to just change the game settings.

Here is my issue with Borderlands 1 which I played a bit with Aspro, if you are not playing simultaneously for the most part someone will be very overpowered.  I love joining others games, I really enjoy helping someone if they need help but the game refused to let me play Aspro's missions until I reached those missions myself. So we had to speed through my game which I dont like to do. Also Aspro started to be a far higher level so he really powerful, I enjoy the challenge. It sucks cause its not like Aspro can do anything, he cant level down. I cant play his game unless we get through mine so it creates this unbalance. It was a blast playing with him though so I was fine with it I just wish there was a way to even up players across games.

Well he can join you and do the main missions he has already done. What happened with me and aspro is that I couldnt play his story missions until I completed all the story missions before that so he had to enter my game.

Yeah Higher levels can always jump in. But I don;t think lower levels can join a higher level game if it is too far ahead of where they are in the campaign.  At least that is how it worked in 1.

Vader's point still stands either way, which is haivng an overpowered co-op partner join your game changes the difficulty down to such a level that both parties are just on cruise-control.

RE5 does the same thing with weapons. When you join someones game you can bring any weapon you want, so by the time you play the game a few times you have every gun fully upgraded. This happens in single player too, on my recent playthrough I had to not use my weapons cause they were so overpowered.
