No, Zelda and Metroid have not been hard since the 80s.
Sonic Colors got a 9 in Nintendo Power! They say its the best Sonic since the 16-bit days.

Well that temple is tough. Its hard in terms of puzzles, you do need to think in a Zelda game but I assume you can handle it. In terms of actual combat and such, nothing should pose a bit threat.
The Water Temple was pure hell! Hell, I say!
Other than that, OoT was easy.
Yeah. That Titans - Jaguars game, probably the least exciting match-up in football on Monday night, got more viewers than the ALCS Rangers VS Yankees game.

Prime 2 was a major bitch, but you can certainly finish Prime 1 and 3. Super Metroid is easy enough as well.
