Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileTwo words: "LOVE IT!"
But it has flaws of course. For one thing, it's definitely designed with multiplayer in mind. But that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it on your own. I'm playing it by myself and I still really love it! But that's probably because I love 2D Castlevania games. So it appeals to me. I think all of us here at VG Press loves these Metro-vania games so I'm sure we'd all enjoy this!
And yes, this is a hack job. Everything in the game is taken from the DS games and Symphony of the Night. But it still looks great! Because the sprites are so good already, it doesn't look dated or cheap at all.
The game is hard, but the grinding gets addicting. You keep playing until you get strong enough to beat a boss. That's really about it. But it's fun and not tiresome.
And I love Miss Kojima's art on the character designs. The Portrait of Ruin anime design was horrible! Miss Kojima makes them look like Castlevania!
I'll get this when I can. $15 is a bit steep but I think it'll be worth it!

Hunting: I tried one of the Cabella ones on the XB. It was not great. They may have been trying too much, because they leaned on the ATV's and things other than actually hunting. I think the potential is there for a very good game. If you want a good hunting simulator try using a sniper only in some of the large open areas of Halo, it's much better given the enemy AI.
A similar type of game (which was done well) is Africa for the PS3 (Hakuna Matata in some markets). They created the tension perfectly and the animal AI was seemed realistic.
Fishing: I've had extended exposure to the fishing games on the Dreamcast (SEGA Bass Fishing, SEGA Marine Fishing and the other one), and with the fishing controller they are very engaging. Not at all realistic -- but then they are based on arcade experiences. A lot of fun though. I have not tried any of the western fishing sims.
In your business that's a good thing though. I thought you were going on vacation?
I was on vacation. 15 days ago. I even went to my hometown for a week. Now I'm back home (alone, because my wife and daughters stayed with the inlaws).
I wanted to get this game so much. I hated the fact it never reached these shores.
Also, I love the idea of having outdoor levels now. It's sounding more like a full-fledged adventure like Titan Quest!
I'll probably get it off Steam so maybe we can go on a quest or two. Just don't get mad when I hog all the items and gold and use you as bait while I escape alive!

Now Playing: Golden Sun Dark Dawn, God of War Ghost of Sparta, and DKC Returns
There's no way I'm getting mad, because the one doing the hogging and escaping will be me.
I bought a Korean copy through play-asia.com a few years ago. But it was finally released in the States last year. It is much better than what many of the critics have said. It's mission driven, you work as a National Geographic photographer. They e-mail you assignments like, "We need a shot of a giraffe, preferably with the sun in the background". So you roll out there with your jeep driving lackey, get close, but not too close and all that sort of thing. Then back to the tent, upload it, get a new assignment, or get new gear that has been delivered, check your e-mail and they'll have told you how good or poor your last shot was and pay you accordingly.
Not enough sex though. They have you living in this tent with this other hot photographer and they never even go there.
You know that saying, when you and a friend is trying to outrun a bear, all you have to do is outrun your friend!
J/K
In all honesty, I'm probably the most honest and best team player in multiplayer games. Whether I'm a skilled player or not is another question!

And I dub thee, the Blizzard effect.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileIt's my fault, should have thought about it some more.
One of our daily news sources for the site Eurogamer.net has a podcast. They are up to number 30.
I only just found it and it's pretty good. Full of humor and analysis, this week they had a 25 year development veteran on. So give it a go if you like podcasts about games.
If you have trouble with understanding English accents (and humor) it may be hard for you (I don't have a problem but I know some people do).

In other news the intreview up on the board with the Yakuza composer is excellent, it's not just about Yakuza. He describes the lead character Kaz, and it makes sense why I like this guy so much (the chr):
These contradictions are in fact a large part of the character's allure. In Japanese there's a common way of describing someone as "a person of gentle nature and strong will." This archetype I think is a good fit for Kazuma. While facing off against his opponents, he has lines like, "Come and get me if you're so anxious to taste death." However, there has been care taken throughout the series for him never to suggest any murderous intentions. This is a little known, subtle nuance of the character, part of a decision made by [Toshihiro] Nagoshi, the executive director of the Yakuza series. The entire staff in turn carefully maintains his stipulation.
Essentially Kazuma is not a violent person, but will wield violence as a means of protecting others. In a sense he's more than just a character, but an ideal. The act of maintaining those standards is one reason why I think so many people enjoy playing as Kazuma.
It's a budget re-release Bayonetta game with a Japanese trailer for Vanquish!
LOL! That's it?
http://www.4gamer.net/games/074/G007439/20100805021/
And here we thought it was a spin-off game or a sequel!

^Groan. So here is a provocative question:
Is Bayonetta the Bloodrayne of this generation? I can see a few correlations.
+ Sexy Goth/Vamp
+ Third Person Action
+ Starts with "B"
But BloodRayne had a sequel and a crappy movie...two movies in fact! So no.
