Playing update:
Eat Lead eventually broke to the point where it is unplayable.
So I tried playing Assassins Creed. That game is crap. I played it for about 90 minutes. It's utter crap. I know why people would like it, but there is nothing to that game at all other than they threw out everything you know about controls. To navigate the dude up a cliff you press R1 and X at the same time -- and then he does everything for you? Win button.
Interesting story though, looks great, except for the death masks.
Then tried Bizarre Creations The Club. Not bad. Reminded me of the original Unreal Tournament on the PC. I'll go back to it.
Then tried GTA4 again. I am 70% done according to the game. I just can't do it. I have not played it for 2 years, and I'm 40+ hours in and I no longer have the skills I built up over that time.
The tried Vice City. I'll be playing that to completion when I finish the real game I am playing:
Red Dead Revolver. Oh man, what a great game. The sound design, the characters, the presentation, all amazing. So that's what I'll be playing, along with Chrono Trigger (which got much better, forget what I said on the podcast) and Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 2.
So probably $199. Can't wait to see it.
I picked up that game ages ago with no expectations. I was pleasantly surprised with how good the controls were worked. I gave up after a while though.
I wouldn't be interested in it because I'm fine with DS and its games. But having backwards compatibility means you have an excuse to get it and gift an old system to a friend or family member.
Looks great.
MGSDew (Japan only)
Looks even better when you're playing it.
Hmm, I just realized that RS2 is the first game I've purchased so far this year.
"The Chronicles of Riddick developer Starbreeze Studios has confirmed that one of its projects with Electronic Arts has been cancelled."
Sad news. At least it sounds like they are still working together on something.
We have been.....just not on the Wii.
It should have been $150. They jacked the price up because of Sony announcing PS3 at $600.
The comments from today for God of War 3 have nothing to do with the game.

...and I'm --NOT-- totally convinced of the future of motion controls by it. yay!
The optimist proclaims we live in the best of all possible worlds
while the pessimist fears this is true.

Yeah, I wouldn't say RS2 is an example of the future of motion controls. I mean, they're not true 1:1, but they are a vast improvement.
Zelda Wii will most likely show us what the future of motion controls could be like.
"Our focus on 3D right now is on the console. There's a tremendous amount of opportunity on PlayStation 3 with 3D. The amount of interest in 3D from the retail side and game publishers is off the charts. We know we have a hit with 3D on PS3 and we're going to concentrate our efforts there. I think it remains to be seen where Nintendo goes with 3D on a portable. Having been in the portable space for quite awhile, I think it's an interesting move but one I'd like to see where they go from a demographic standpoint. 8 and 9 year olds playing 3D is a little bit of a stretch given where some of our research is right now." - SCEA's Director of Hardware and Marketing John Koller
I hesitate to say it because I WILL NOT buy it, but I was actually more impressed by the gladiator video of Move in action than my hands on experience with Red Steel 2 for the first time.
Natal's not gonna do 1:1. I'm starting to doubt Motion Plus' ability to do it effectively.
The Move with its big balls and camera seems to capture motion better (at a ridiculous cost, literally and functionally).
I'm not dismissing RS2 yet...
...and I don't know if near dead batteries is affecting my experience...
...but I'll certainly play it more and post.
