Not officially, but rumor has it that Iwata put pressure on Activision (the current James Bond license holder) to stop it's release.
So according to that rumour it's actually Activision that stopped the game from being released!
Yes, but only because they didn't want to piss Iwata off. Let's face it, Iwata is one scary dude!
Only when angry! Who cares about GoldenEye
Perfect Dark superior, GoldenEye inferior!
True, but it still would've been awesome to have Goldeneye too.
Wii MotionPlus Pics
Because it's an awesome game.
But...why?
Nintendo tried, but rejected the motion-sening tech that Sony, Microsoft are now employing
“Until they say when they’re releasing it, how much it costs and what software it comes with, we won’t know whether that is the route we should have taken. However . . . I think they couldn’t choose to release exactly the same thing. Companies whose people said that motion-sensing wouldn’t work are now proposing motion sensors." - Satoru Iwata
I tried to put this in the news above, but something went wrong with it. I also can't fix it because I have somehow lost the ability to edit news articles.
Well, like Goldeneye 007, PD was one of the first console FPS to have multiple mission objectives per level. Most FPS during that era were just "kill everything" affairs. It also had an excellent multiplayer component.
I can't edit the news either. Well hope Yoda fixes it soon!
My adjustment appears to be little earlier. Editing of news once that week is over is disabled so trolls can't mess up old news that noone's looking at.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileI found it to be unplayable on the N64. Mostly because I could not see what I was supposed to be doing. bad level design, horrible graphics and poor aiming.
That's right, I said it.
Tell you what, when I get my N64 hooked up again I'll play it and give a full explanation of why it is so horrible. But from what I remember the game was completely directionless. And looked horrible.
It actually looks pretty godamn weird in HD to me. Everything is so angular and sterile.
Are you talking about the conference demo? The one I watched through ALONE because you assholes left?
It was entertaining, sort of. Looked very conventional to me.
When Nintendo sold off their stake in rare to MS, the IPs were split so that Rare kept rights to their games, Nintendo rights to theirs. But two of those IPs were up in the air, Perfect Dark and Goldeneye. And there was confusion over whether games that rare made but nintendo (published) would be legally availible to XBLA.
It's taken almost 4 years to get Perfect Dark N64 on XBL. Goldeneye's rights seem split between nintendo, rare, MGM now owned by Sony and Activision who have the current bond licence.
Goldeneye, Perfect Dark were landmark FPS's that were cloned endlessly before Halo became the shooter to clone.
You need to UN-say it before you get my boot in your ass.
