Another crappy conference, wow Take-two...
Oh, okay. Pretty confusing story nonetheless.
I think we're hitting a thousand posts easily this week. Yay!
I honestly don't even remember using a bowling ball in the game. I was all about knives and guns.
I think it's technically better than that given the size of the environments in that trailer. I think those screens are definetely captured from a PC because they are too sharp and must look murkier on an SDTV. However if you study the pics closely you kind of see what they have done, for instance they have normal mapped the guys face and part of a wall so they are judiciously using effects. The water in those shots looks good yeah but the xbox had that stupid speedboat combat game with water that looked as good as that and GC had water in Rebel strike that looked pretty spiffy too. Still if the game does end up like that I will be impressed but I'm calling bullshots for the moment.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileSum up of what was shown at the live GS show of LPB. Probably up to download later in the day:
There was a level where it was like Mario level with Bullet Bills being shot across the level as you are doing jumps and such. Then he gets onto this raft and starts sliding down a snow mountian while little enemies ones jump down after you, awesome stuff.
Then he went into share mode which is so easy, its a globe and around the globe you have icons, each one is a level. Highlight the icon and it tells you the name of the level, who made it, etc. Click on that and you get a detailed box saying how many times you played the level, did you complete it, did you 100% the level, etc. Just click to play and a few seconds later, they are in the game, that was without preloading or anything they were on the GS PS3, using the E3 internet to get into the level, smooth and fast.
So the first level they went to is this guy in the beta which is obsessed with making music themed levels. In the game you have these music devices you can place on a box. I guess there is some type of activator that you can use to play the note. So the level is a string of these music boxes placed like music chart, you hope onto this rolling platform thing and depending how fast you go the music goes fast or slow, strung together it makes a song.
Then they talked about the sharing aspects like how you can judge each level with a tag like "many jumps", "hard", "excellent", "sucks", etc. These tags will be tracked so you can search using them or you can follow a persons critiques. Say you like the taste of a certain player, you can track his comments, so basically you can become a well known critic withing LBP.
The friend features are easy, you can invite anyone from your friend list into your game at any time, while playing or creating. You can view what levels your friends are playing at any given time and join them. They showed how you can upload pics use it for the background or anything. They kind of avoided the custom music question, like from your HD, instead they talked about how you can make your own music. They showed the sack boy mask which is a blank carboard to paste whatever image you want. They talked about content limits, yes there will be a limit to how much you can put in a level and that is measured by this thermometer on the side of the screen when you create.
They showed a few more custom levels and a bit of the creator. All amazing. Trophy and home support is confirmed. This is the game to look out for, just amazing.
What does that even mean?
Bullshots. I think a couple of them are realistic though.
Every time a console game comes out with a new feature like HD, sharing movies and level editors and people are happy about it, you will always find a PC snob saying "Who cares we had that all along".
I think that we are severly lacking PC snobs here, so I will have to do it. Vader you can be the Nintendo troll.
P.S. Wario, LBP, Megaman and Banjo! Yes platformers are alive. No more waiting 5 years until Ninty releases another Mario.
Right, ok Iga you are crazy. In a good way maybe...
How long did it take to figure it out?
I have been slowly learning. Just how you are learning I am a big cry baby.
