LOL...yes GG brings back the true colors of Carnage!

Hiresdes has no clue man. Dude you could never even hope to match Carnage nor should you want to. His worst time was actually pre-Wii, during the Gamecube era. Once Wii came out he lost much of his gusto seemingly because it sold so well he couldn't put up his usual "beat up the loser" stance on Nintendo.

Believe me, he would enter every single Nintendo thread, and turn the tables to make anything positive into a negative. Not even in a real funny way...as I said like Pedro used to. Carnage just seemed full of pure hate.

Oh snap...I forgot about that period of time where Carnage said Nintendo fans were leaving the Gamecube for the DS (as if Nintendo home console owners automatically were also handheld fans) and that the DS and Wii would "have no full games".

Full games....lol.

Sony and MS price cuts coming IN THE FALL?!

How about like right fucking now maybe? LOL this is getting really sad with these companies and their absolute refusal to get to a mass market price in any kind of timely manner. Especially the 360...its been out for 3 years, the fucker should be $200 right now.

Its obvious their strategy of expensive SKU's based on hard drive sizes is never going to gain them any major marketshare or profits, so when are they going to smarten up? I have friends who Are STILL waiting for a more friendly price....and hell by the time they come the generation will be over. Then what's going to happen to the sales of their next machines if they again use this strategy?

Shit, man. Nobody is bringing nobody over here. You can relax those tightly clenched buttocks now.

Regarding Sony and MS price fuckups. I'm not surprised anymore. They just cannot do pricecuts without bleed money out of their asshole. That's the price of launching consoles with expensive (Sony) and unreliable (MS) tech. Proprietary hard drives suck. Shitty hardware sucks even more. And nobody fucking cares about 1080p. They jumped the gun, and now have a sore asshole.

At least if they were mass market they'd be selling more systems which would offset the losses anyway, plus they'd be selling a lot more software by gaining customers and making 3rd-parties happier.

Seems like the smart thing to do if you ask me. They're gonna bleed money on hardware no matter what. May as well make the most out of it.

I recall reading somewhere that Sony (dunno about MS) actually lost more money by selling more systems. The article even hinted that they might be very well selling their way into bankruptcy, one system at a time. I'm pretty sure most of it was sensationalist bullshit, but still, I understand how they are reluctant to increase their losses per hardware unit sold.

Sonic Unleashed

"2. The Sonic Bit Players will sit this one out: Tails, Shadow and Amy Rose are all benched, we were told. While you might get glimpses of them during cut scenes, the game's developers have decided to focus only on Sonic this time around."

Yeah, that's what I'm talking about! No more lame characters. Yay! My interest in this game has increased ten fold right now. Happy

If that's the case, I guess they would have been better off never even releasing the machine to the public.

Sony says: Our goal is to not sell anywhere near as many PS3's as we did PS2 and PS1's. LOL

They cornered themselves into a straight lose-lose situation. You either bleed money out of your ass, or concede defeat. In a way, they've already lost.

New Wii RPG Happy Arc Rise is from the makers of Luminous Arc and is also developing World Destruction on the DS.  Sounds as though it could be good.

HALO NOVEL:

Halo: The Cole Protocol will "unveil the location of the Spartan Gray Team, and take readers into an unexplored conflict of the Human-Covenant War, where unlikely alliances are formed and shattered, altering the course of the humanity's epic struggle for survival."

Buckell, whose previous science fiction works include Crystal Rain and Ragamuffin, is a fan of the Halo series and has reportedly played every installment in the first-person shooter series.

"I've been a fan of Buckell's since Crystal Rain, and when I found out he was playing Halo, I was chomping at the bit to get him to try his hand at a Halo novel." said Tor Editor Eric Raab. "The Cole Protocol is awesome stuff that expands the Halo universe in some really amazing ways."

Halo: The Cole Protocol is the sixth installment in the Halo fiction series.

BTW: WHAT DID EVERYONE THINK ABOUT IGA'S IDEA?

Copy it over Iga! The one about making the site look like a newspaper and having the title as The Gaming Planet or The Gaming Times? I like the name: The Gaming Globe. We could have a logo like the Daily Planet Superman one.

Well I was planning to make a blog entry about my plan of this site, but I will put it here because GG brought it up already. My sister had a idea of copying the newspaper names. So instead of the New York Times it would be the Gaming Times. She also suggested to copy the letter type of the original, so the title would look like an gaming parody of the original.

My idea is to take this idea further. Basicly my idea is to make GG weekly an electronic newspaper. And newspaper are daily anyways, so it would make sense. GG weekly should look like a real newspaper. The lettering, the photo's the whole picture. We could do the rest like newspaper too. GG could be the Editor, Yoda the design editor, The rest can be journalists that help the editor.

I think the strength of this site is the news. GG weekly is much better than all the sites and Neogaf combined, with respect to the news gathering. Changing the format in a news paper design will only serve to accentuate our strength. We can also do columns where Edge, Punk, Vader, etc. can make opiniated pieces. We can do reviews too, but everything will have a newspaper like design.

I think the newspaper design will make us stand out in the vast Internet cosmos. Of course this will be the end goal, first we should focus on getting this site running perfectly. The most important thing is to have a robust site. So what do you guys think?

P.S. I our new name is going to be "Gaming Planet" we should pay homage to the best magazine ever "N64 magazine".

So the logo will be something with this guy.

We should use this guy instead of the plain globe. We could have him be dressed up as different gaming characters.

I love the general idea, I like the title: The Gaming Globe or Gaming Planet over Gaming Times. Again I love the idea of newspaper type print and a paper like look/filter on the pages. Editorials are a good idea we had before, something that is slightly less personal than a blog, written in the third person and put onto the front page as an opinion piece.

I'm no editor, like I said on my 1up Blog, I'm an ideas man and I have no authority or technical skill to manipulate these pages and I can't just expect Yo to click his fingers like a genie and put features/articles up. Also if you want to mimic the look of a newspaper you have to start doing columns which can be difficult in terms of fitting in content. Also people would have to start writing short synopses on news items.

I guess the first things to address first on the site is first the forum? Is there going to be a general forum for everything whilst keeping this feature for news discussion.?

The second immediate concern for me is getting participation on the news posting. I'm still getting some ideas togehter, but I think I may have a system down if people are willing.
