ONCE GAMES ACHEIVE PHOTOREALISM, WHAT THEN?

I'm wondering. I think maybe that once games do acheive that there will be a move away from it and developers will go the other way and start making more fantastical games with unique art styles.

WHAT ABOUT DISPLAYS?

3-D tvs are being introduced next year and PS3s will work with them, some require you to wear shades. Will this be okay for glasses wearers? Is this the future? What about head sets? Does 3-D TV work at all angles for all people in a room?

I'm going to hold off on judging 3-d until I see it in person.

As to whether devs will get over their realism fetish and move to unique art styles I see that happening already. Muramusa, No More Heroes (any grasshopper game really), Madworld, Okami.

I think gamers are going to realize that they only want the highest levels of realism in driving and spors games (and Endless Ocean). I'm not sure how much fun violent games will be when you are confronted with ultra realistic graphics.

Yeah digital isn't as safe as having the actual hard copy. Hopefully they would have some means to allowing users continued access where their company ever to have to shut down. I guess it depends on what type of DRM is on the games. Different companies use different methods. For example games on the 360 should be ok because you don't have to be online to play them so no need for online authentication. I would imagine Sony's and Nintendo's are similar.

Yeah violent games might even become banned in most countries. You saw what happened to PS2 graphics Manhunt 2 right? Imagine a photoreaslitic violent game?

WHAT ABOUT CONTROLS GUYS?

I have a feeling that there might be a kick back when it comes to overcomplicating controls. I think motion is here to stay but that the next round of controls will have to be more accurate and yet more elegant to use.
