Leo, have you figured out how to solve the plus puzzles?

Haven't played in a few days. At Sahelanthropus in MGV so I'm trying to wrap that game up finally.

I am under the assumption that the plus puzzles are the ones that occur in the environments, not on the panels, like the rising platforms and the sunbeam in the Stone Quarry. I haven't tried to solve another one to confirm though.

That's correct.  I've got plus six, but I know of at least six that I cannot solve yet.  Look up in the sky!

I finally got back to this today after not being able to play for two days.  I've completed 179 panels plus 8.  The quarry is pretty easy once I FINALLY figured out what to do.  Just two puzzles shy of activating that laser.

Bam!  The greenhouse area is complete.  And once again the puzzles were amazing!  These colored puzzles are exactly what we need in Zelda games.  I have finished 221 panels plus 9.

You know what's given me pause? I am in the Swamp on the tetromino part and I want to physically MAKE something so I could lay out the pieces on a chess board to try and figure out the puzzles... Of course that's probably never gonna happen, but those things would be murder to draw out!

Playdoh?  I don't know.  I haven't even touched the swamp because it looks so complex.

The island itself is just wonderful to explore.  Every time I turn around there's a new path to explore.  It reminds of the island on Lost.  I wonder if that was an influence in the design?

I love that some call it a "Mental Metroid-vania."

It's so true, too. Inevitably, there will be an area you can't access because you don't have a certain toolset. (Knowledge of how to solve the puzzle.)

Once you find out HOW to solve those puzzles, you go back to previous areas and look for the rooms and spaces with your new-found knowledge. The concept is exactly right!

I am now a witness! I just started, man it's beautiful. So I solved 44 super easy puzzles, my favorite part though was following power lines and discovering hidden locked doors. When I feel I am going off the script it hits all the right exploration beats. I like how it teaches you how to solve new puzzles by just presenting them. I discovered some case that inside had a drawing of some sort, I took a picture I am sure that is important later.

I only played for an hour, will sink in more today. I cannot wait to reach the parts you guys are discussing.

Tons of reviews said you will need to leave puzzles, think of something else and come back and book the solution will come to you.
