I see a lot of Wii U commercials; I also see adverts for 3DS but most of the 3DS adverts now are for Paper Mario Sticker Star.
I guess I see Wii U adverts a lot because my Nephew watches cartoons a lot and they have Wii U adverts during each commercial break almost. I also see adverts on the History Channel and Discovery Channel.
I see nothing. I think here they would do a few adverts on the X-Factor.
From IGN:
Frozenbyte has documented its (easy) Wii U development process before, but what's a bit more interesting is the level of control it enjoys once its game is out in the marketplace. Wii U's eShop operates much like Apple's Appstore. Developers set their prices. More importantly, they also determine when they have sales.
"That's what we love about the new eShop," said Haveri. "We have the power to price our products as we please, with just some basic guidelines from the big guys. The step to this is purely from Nintendos's side and they clearly see that [their] previous installments have not been up to par. We can set our own pricing and actually continuing on that by setting our own sales whenever we want. It is very close to what Apple and Steam are doing at the moment, and very indie friendly."
Nice to see Nintendo is playing nice with the indie community. The 2-D Boy guys and Gaijin games are once again throwing in with Nintendo so those are good signs too. I'm going to make a not very outrageous prediction here and say that the Wii U will see a lot of love from the indie gaming community, and because of the ease of mapping controls to a touchscreen instead of a traditional controller a lot of high profile PC and iOS games are going to be making an appearance. It wouldn't even surprise me if some of the cross-over console/PC games that previously were only on XBLA show up on the Wii U. Just be nice to see something like To The Moon, Terraria, Bastion and a few other games show up on the system.
