"And as I showed with an example, consoles have many alternatives to those genres, PC doesn't. They don't carry games like that. And that is the big problem. So no its not as simple as switching the terms."

Watered down shitty alternatives that aren't anything like the real thing don't really count tbh.

And this "comfy couch" mentality has to stop. You can connect a PC to your HDTV and play it from your couch with a gamepad. If there is anything that characterizes PC gaming is flexibility. You can do things your way.

Mmmm... not really.  I guess I haven't tried it recently, but the last time I did it it was not a joy, no matter how much I tried to fool myself into it.

However since I tried it somethings have changed:

- HD TVs would provide a suitable screen over the SDTV I did with one of the first PC/TV cards.

- The annoying noise of a PC is now matched by the jet engine noise that comes out of a PS3 or 360 Fat.

- Controllers were not supported by any PC games (at least not easily).

Hmmmmmmmmm.

I can't take you seriously when you're coming up with anecdotal evidence from a post by some random internet dude to support your claims. I liked you better when you were a tunnel vision knucklehead. By which I mean, at the beginning of the thread. LOL

Like I said before, it's not usually a plug and play affair. It demands some sort of commitment.

It relates to this that is all. I know it's much easier to make dumb claims when the person you arguing with doesn't know what they are talking about. Too bad I do.

I'm not saying you don't know what you're talking about. I guess you do. I'm just saying random internet posts are hardly the way to support somebody's stance, no matter how related to the discussion you think they are. But what do I know?

You know plenty. I found it interesting that this topic showed up at gaf while this thread is going on. It's just an example of one persons experience just like you and me. It not a thread saying one side is better than another just an example of how you get such different games on consoles.

I'm surprised by how quiet this computer is. Except on rare occassions it's quieter than my Wii and my PS3. Much quiter than the old PC, despite there being more and bigger fans.

Are you trying to make me look bad on purpose? Because if you are, I'm going to strip fucking naked and fucking swim my way down there to show you a thing or two about life, love, death and despair, sucker punching great whites with my throbbing phallus and wiping my bare asshole with sea wasps during my journey. Argh!

Great thread! Very entertaining... But seriously I enjoy both, though mostly I can't play the newest games on my PC anymore. I am playing Mass Effect 2 on it, it runs ok. I also have my 360 s hooked up to the same monitor as my pc. I have to say it is almost like playing a pc this way with headphones and the closeness of being on top of the screen, and sitting at my desk. Really todays consoles are PC's yeah I know they are not  as useful, or as powerful. But as far as gaming goes the difference is really not that far apart anymore. Thats why I have not upgraded my PC really, it is still fine for PC stuff and my consoles play at my pc desk and my hdtv so ... I still do play some games on my pc, but it's a single core with and older video card so I'm not playing Crysis 2  on it.
