Oh yeah, Berserk has been nigh on identical to the 2 movies so far so I'm really wondering why they bothered making the movies. There are some minor differences but you have to look really hard to spot them. They even use the same English voice actors.
The precursor to Redline. Redline is set in the same universe, and the lobster dude in the fish tank scene and his patna are the protagonists. It's got nothing to do with racing, and is very slow with not much action. But I thought it was pretty funny. It's a bit of a homage, too. You might like it. But if Redline is an incredibly polished modern interpretation of old anime art, Trava literally looks like an old anime. It's on YouTube.
On Vampire Hunter D:
Live-action film
Announced in 2008, Hideyuki Kikuchi is currently working on a live-action adaptation with one of the producers for Capcom's Resident Evil video game series.[3] The rights to both Vampire Hunter D and Wicked City had previously been optioned by Mark Dippe and Davis Films.[4]
Animated series
In the January 2010 issue of Rue Morgue, Hideyuki Kikuchi stated that a Vampire Hunter D anime series is currently in the planning stages in Japan.[3]
So these haven't shown up yet?

Holy shit, thanks. How did you learn of it?
Whoa... that animation... it's like cave drawings
Anyone watch the Supernatural anime?

imdb review of Redline.
So they made that and then spent the next 7 years making Redline.
3 episodes from the end of Claymore I don't want it to end. I don't know how they are going to wrap up the story in 3 episodes without it feeling rushed. I thought they were going to traverse the land and take out all 3 creatures of the abyss but they appear to be only facing 1. Are there any OVAs or movies or more seasons planned?
Wikipedia says the manga has 26 volumes released as of June 2014. Madhouse adapted the first eleven volumes of the series into a twenty-six episode anime series. So there is much more material to do. The series adapts the first eleven volumes of its source material over the first 24 episodes, then uses an alternate ending for its final two episodes. It is speculated by many that this is the probable reason for having no season 2 of claymore.
Aw fuck an egg.
Also now up the point in Berserk where Doldrey is captured. So the two movies cover everything up to that point which is impressive if you want a shorter version but IMO the series is better, a bit more in depth but not massively so. I'm wondering when or if we are ever really going to get into the demon stuff.
Funimation Licenses Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star Anime; Strike Witches, Steins Gate Films
The Steins;Gate Fuka Ryōiki no Déjà vu film opened last year in Japan as a sequel to the 2011 television anime series. The film reunites the television series' cast and staff with a completely new story set after the "true end" of the television series.

So I got my 24 DVD set of Fist of the North Star from Shanghai. The USA one is 21 DVDs this apparently has the OVAs too. I'm dubious as to whether this was legit as I've been burned on asian versions of anime before. My reasoning was that if this set was a fake it wouldn't have so many DVDs, they would just compress them to half the size.
So the box is cracked and the discs come in this like cheap disposable wallet, one of which is ripped. I popped in the first disc and it this cheap home made looking menu screen. I click on chapters expecting to see episodes but get some weird Chinese text over two pages. Things are not looking good. So I pop in the first disc and it doesn't look bad, I mean it looks like an 80s cartoon which is what it is. The picture is like 80% of what it should be. English subs work.
Ah well, no going back now. 150 episodes to watch.

Now you know why I'm reading the manga instead of watching the anime. I also prefer the artwork in the manga.
Sucks.
FOTNStar is pretty awesome, it's old but as a fan of the 80s this is some cool shit. Picture quality is good but the subs are... inconsistent.
Finished the Fairy Tail Edolas story arc. 90 episodes in.
I've got to hand it to Fairy Tail, just when I thought it was getting predictable and formulaic (and it is to an extent) they pull out a cracking setpiece, a cracking story twist and another emotional moment that had me near tears. There aren't many series that can make you crack out in a wide as a Cheshire cat grin. Only one animated film/series has ever made me cry, Grave of the Fireflies and those who have seen it will know why. Yet Fairytail has moments which have me on the brink or falling off that brink with either happy or sad tears, on a regular basis.
I burned out on Fairy Tail around episode 17, and haven't gone back yet.
I'm happy that Cowboy Bebop is finally releasing on Blu-ray in North America on December 16th.
I plan on purchasing it if the price is right.

That's at the point it starts getting better. You didn't like the Galuna Island episode arc?
P.S I need to activate that Crunchyroll code in the next two weeks, remind me.

Ah sheet. Finished it.
It's obvious there's meant to be a second series and nothing really happened in the last two episodes that would mean it couldn't continue. As it stands it's a great series with an unsatisfactory ending. I can't say why because of spoilers but nothing catastrophic happened. They didn't even face off with even 1, creature of the abyss.
Oh yeah what's up with Clares yoki aura sensing ability she nabbed from Teresa? They make a big shit about it in the middle of the series then it's never seen or mentioned again.
Well if you want to read about the ending and manga continuation etc:

The forum guys says the manga gets tedious btw.

I keep meaning to go back to it, but haven't yet.
I get a new trial code every month, so don't worry about that time limit. I have two more that I can give you that dont' expire until Oct 3rd and Nov 2nd.
How long does each pass last for me?
Ravenprose said:I keep meaning to go back to it, but haven't yet.
If you didn't like the Galuna Island episode arc you might not like the rest of it, it's in a similar vein, action, comedy, ridiculousness, backstory, conflict. They have 13 episode story arcs then move onto what's next.
The problem with anime is that it's very expensive to produce, so if a series doesn't sell insanely well, they won't continue making it. Most anime series ususally only last one or two seasons, while the manga series will go on for many more years. It sucks, but that's business.
Hmm, I don't recall the manga making a big deal about Claire's Yoma sensing ability.
I've just finished reading volume 15, and it hasn't become tedious to me yet.
Been searching for this, not out here.
No Rurouni Kenshin either. Is that good?
