Grinning Honestly, trailers are irrelevant to me at this point for Ghibli.  Hell, I don't even need a title.  You could have just stopped at "Studio Ghibli's new film" -- that's enough.

Is Miyazaki making a new film or is he too caught up in this effort? And why is Isao Takahata so slow in making his movies? Pom Poko and The Yamadas are awesome films.

Not a big fan of Pom Poko.  It's pretty much dead last out of the Ghibli films I've seen (haven't seen Tales of Earthsea, though)

Updates:

Arrietty Production Complete

Studio Ghibli blogger Nishioka revealed that with the finalization of sound production mix last Sunday Arrietty is considered finished. Some minor sound work still remains but anything requiring a check by the director and the producer are done.

The first preview for production staff will be held on June 24. The preview to announce Arrietty's completion for the press and the press conference takes place on July 1. Public previews start from July 2.

Nishioka mentioned that Yonebayashi (director of the film) is conducting a bunch of interviews and he gets tired of answering the same repeated questions.

I can't believe we have people who say they are Ghibli fans and then don't even check the threads for info. Sad

Disney Home Entertainment have announced the Japanese DVD and Blu-Ray releases of 'The Borrower Arrietty' for the 17th June 2011. Directed by Hiromasa Yonebayashi and co-written by Hayao Miyazaki, the film is an animated adaptation of 'The Borrowers' by British author Mary Norton.

Synopsis

Beneath our floorboards and inside our walls live a tiny race of people called the Borrowers. Pod (Tomokazu Miura), Homily, and their adventurous daughter Arriety (Shida Mirai) make up one of the few Borrower families that still exist in the world. One day, young boy Sho moves into the house they reside in and notices Arriety briefly. Despite Pod and Homily's warnings about the danger human beings pose to their kind, Arriety forms a friendship with Sho. UK Dub Trailer For Studio Ghibli's ARRIETTY

BTW Miyazaki planned and wrote the screenplay for this one. Grinning

In a very unusual move Studio Ghibli's Arrietty is receiving not one but two English language dub tracks for its release in English speaking territories. One - featuring the voices of Bridgit Mendler, Will Arnett, Amy Poehler and Carol Burnett - has been prepared for the US release. And another - featuring Saorise Ronan, Mark Strong, Olivia Coleman and Tom Holland - has been prepared for the UK release. And that UK track is now on display in the freshly released - and very rhymey - UK trailer for the film.

Based on the novel The Borrowers by Mary Norton, tells the story of a family of tiny people - no bigger than a mouse - who live hidden away in a regular human home, surviving by 'borrowing' items they need from the house during the night. Watch the trailer below.

ARRIETTY UK DVD & BluRay Twitch review

For the most part this is Ghibli on top form, and easily the best they've done since the mid- to late 1990s. Arrietty feels like a dance, and not just because of Breton harpist Cécile Corbel's rippling, elegant score - Yonebayashi and his crew make much of the film seem almost effortless, a series of steps planned out so meticulously they could hardly have turned out any different. Ghibli definitely receive more than their fair share of hyperbole, and for all the technical expertise on display here Arrietty is still a simple children's story without much in the way of depth or subtext. But it's honestly wonderful for all that, captivatingly beautiful, the kind of transporting experience that few if any animation houses in the world know how to do. Despite its flaws, Arrietty is one of the jewels in Ghibli's crown, and pretty much anyone who loves great cinema ought to see it.

Gotta love complaining about hyperbole in a hyperbole-filled paragraph.

I have Arrietty.

There are two english dubs of this movie, an american one and an english one. The UK version only has the UK dub and a couple of the actors let the side down. But the Japanese voices are odd to me because the Borrowers is a very english story from 50 years ago. I'm weirded out with both dubs but I've only seen the first 10 minutes.

Music is..... interesting so far. Doesn't look like Joe Hisashi did this one. Sad
