I own one and am very happy about the overall userfriendliness and quality of the experience. I have used it to play MHW mainly, which is not a good game to get a feeling for input lag and such, as combat is not 'snappy' but rather ponderous and thus lag is less visible. There'll also be instances where graphical quality takes a hit, but overall I'm satisfied with it. I do have both it and my PC connected through ethernet ports, not over Wifi.
You can attach any usb controller as far as I'm aware. I use a USB X360 pad. I'm not sure, but I think stuff like voicechat is also enabled now.
Basically you can use the Steam Link to mirror your desktop as well. It will only start streaming (in Big Picture mode) if you have Steam running, but once you have started you can simply opt to turn Steam off and you will be transported to your desktop.
I found out you can steamlink to iOS and Android as well, so tried it on my android phone and it worked well, but for the small screenand poor controls, but no latency.
Will have to try it on a cheap tablet and see how it goes (I guess I could also figure out how to use said device as a "steam link" and hook it up to me TV and use bluetooth controller (and have newer tech than the steamlink itself more likely).
Okay, so I want to play Steam on my TV.
Steamlinks are only available on the gray market now so was thiking of getting one off ebay.
Anyone have one? Does it limit you to using the steam controller?
What do I need to know?
