So that's it then?

What does this mean for Destiny (the game not the concept of a predetermined course of future events).

What does this even mean for COD?

What caused it to fizzle?

Is this just an AssCreed thing where everyone assumes it will get better in the sequels?

Is this a massive slapdown for not including a campaign mode?

Has the online gaming community been fully consumed PAC-MAN style by Dota 2 and Minecraft?

Where have all the flowers gone?

Will there be an end to these fruitless questions?

From what I've read, Titanfall sold anywhere from 2 to 2.5, globally.  That's not bad IMO, and should only be viewed as a failure to EA/MS who probably had unrealistic sales forecasts.  I think MS shot themselves in the foot by not making it a XBone exclusive.  What incentive do most gamers have to buy an XBone when about 80 million of them already have a platform to play it on?

99% when you count PC.

2-2.5 million is a massive fail for what that game cost MS to give away for free in bundles and for first game exclusivity. Far Cry 3 (although notable yes) sold over 7 million. For all the hype Titanfall was getting for over a year it was supposed to be the new Gears+Halo in one.

I see your point, but did Halo 1 or Gears sell 2.5 million in one month.   I just think this is another example of unrealistic expectations.

of course, I'm simplifying this, but the crazy sales expectation is one of the biggest mistakes.

I get you. I remember back in the day when Nintendo would put "250,000 Sold" stickers on best selling N64 games.

The scale has shifted.

Online only games... I wish they didn't exist. Titanfall peeps on GAF are saying they have made it so you can't complete missions in single player, you have to have online back up.

Single player thing played a part. Also it will probably be a slow burn, it will probably hit 5+ million by the end of this year. What matters to them is establishing a brand so that the sequels are monsters. I don't know if they did that.

Also it not being on PS4 is idiotic.

Not being on PS4 was a brilliant move. The money MS paid them to keep it off PS4 probably covered all of the development.
