This week will be the big coming out party for RE7. I don’t know what the hell capcom has been thinking with the marketing of this game. They release a weird demo that won’t be like the final product. Got everyone confused that it’s going to be some crappy amnesia like game, that mixed with the first person view got many people pissed off. Now a few months from release they will finally show the actual game.

It will have guns, it will have monsters, it will have inventory management, it will have puzzles. It could be the classic style RE game we have been wishing for, but that has been lost with the terrible first reveals. It’s also the biggest high profile VR game, it’s a big gamble, one that the majority of players will never experience but those that do could have an experience unlike anything we have played before.

There is also most likely going to be a new demo to play and hopefully the PC demo so we can get this thing running in VR.

I'm kind of excited to see Capcom attempt to bring RE back to its horror roots.  I hope the real game is creepy as hell.

Poor Capcom, gamers can be so incredibly fickle. They saw Konami do something that people were buzzing about with P.T. and thought that they'd do the same thing with Resident Evil 7 and it really didn't work out well for them. Anyway I'm really looking forward to seeing what RE7 is going to really be like so hopefully we'll see some gameplay footage soon or better yet get a demo.

PT did it so much better, and in a manner that made sense. RE7's demo was this like "what if we do the PT thing" except they missed the entire point of why the PT thing even worked.

Is RE7 VR PS exclusive? Or will it support Occulus etc on PC?

I kind of enjoy the new look. Nothing will wow me like RE4 did.   I'm particularly excited about this being in fps mode.

TRAILER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! NEW DEMO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! PICS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! INFO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! HYPE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

At Tokyo Game Show earlier today, Capcom confirmed several new details about the Resident Evil 7 Teaser: Beginning Hour demo. Currently available exclusively to PlayStation Plus subscribers, it broke records as the most downloaded demo in the first seven days of its release for North America on PS4. Capcom shared that the demo has just recently reached over 3 million downloads worldwide to date. It was also announced that the demo will receive a brand new update that allows players to explore more of the mysterious, derelict mansion. This new “Twilight” version will be available tomorrow, September 15, and will be available for all PS4 users to download.</em>

A new trailer and screens are now available on the press site, which provide a long-awaited look at some of the intense combat that can be expected in Resident Evil 7, as well as a far from appetizing feast to remember with the highly disturbed Baker family.</em>

<em>Pre-orders for Resident Evil 7 are currently available in both standard and deluxe versions on PlayStation 4. The deluxe edition was previously available for pre-order in North America for $79.99 MSRP which included the main game and a season pass containing access to two additional playable story episodes which will be launching after the title’s release on January 24, 2016. Capcom confirmed today that the deluxe edition has been upgraded to include another playable story episode bringing the total of additional pieces of content to three and the price will be updated to $89.99 MSRP beginning tomorrow. Anyone who previously pre-ordered the digital deluxe edition in North America on the PlayStation Store will automatically be upgraded to the new deluxe edition at no additional charge.</em>

All pre-order customers will receive a Survival Pack which includes consumable healing items, an early unlock of the insanely difficult Madhouse mode, and a mysterious Lucky Coin in-game defense item. In addition, North American pre-orders for the PS4 version on the PlayStation Store will instantly receive a dynamic theme for PS4. Pre-orders for Microsoft and Steam digital releases will be available in the coming weeks. For details on European pre-orders please visit the relevant local Capcom social channels.</em>

Resident Evil 7 biohazard will be available for PlayStation® 4 (the full gameplay experience will also be available via the included PlayStation® VR mode), Xbox One and PC when it launches across Europe and North America on January 24, 2017.</em>

This is going to be the most incredible VR experience of all time. I watched the trailer with headphones and it was creepy enough, just wait till my whole being is inside the scene. Mr. Baker X crashing through walls! Heart attack waiting to happen.

Finally looking like a game I want to play. Mansion, nemesis like dude chasing you everywhere, guns, lets do this.

Famitsu info!

The people at the dinner table include Jack and Marguerite Baker, Andre from the demo, but more so it reveals the name of the son in the dinner shot is in fact Lucas Baker, and the elderly woman is Camile Baker. The image mentions that this piece of art is made for Tokyo Game Show, and is not representative of the final game. Some of the characters won't be in the final game. (I'm guessing they mean Andre). However, they do mention Camile & Lucas will play roles in the game, and that Lucas is a major character.

-Mia is someone that Ethan is 'close with'.

-Video tapes and other methods are used to 'alter events' during the course of the game.

-There are no hordes of enemies in Resident Evil 7, the enemies are more personalized and stalkerish, but can be combated and defeated.

-The Lantern gameplay shown off recently is a taste of one of the aspects of RE7. You'll face the enemies in tougher scenarios in the memory sequences, and there will be a number of them through the game. The Lantern demo is only a taste of what's to come.

-It mentions there's returning Resident Evil characters (notably plural), can you guess who they are?

-The player awakens at one point in the game in a derelict house, where they meet Camile. It also mentions players will meet other survivors from a unsaid danger in the same situation as you. (note: It was originally translated as the game starts off in a zombie outbreak, but that's not correct, and this is not the opening but a scene later in the game).

-A weapon you obtain early in is a knife, you start off the whole first few hours of the game barely able to defend yourself but it is possible to take down your foes. (note: I originally said it was the first weapon, but it's not actually stated as such, you apparently get a weapon before this knife)

-There are items you can interact with in the environment. Some enemies cannot be killed with weapons, and you'll need to defend yourself with your wit and surroundings. Enemies can be killed by playing it smart with the environment.

-The interview in Famitsu is with the game's director and producer. They talk about themselves, their experience at Gamescom, and the reaction people have had to RE7, they like the feedback they've been getting, and talk a bit about weaponry in RE7 (we'll get to that). They talk about choosing what sort of footage to show, and they showed the Lantern gameplay as it rose questions, was low on action, focus on atmosphere, and didn't show too much. Talk about polishing VR and their three different modes for VR leading to the final release to make their January date.

-Asked if the game is still releasing in January since what's been shown so far is vague, and they laugh and say yes, they're actually almost done with the game they're just keeping a lot from public eyes right now. They say they don't want to spoil things, but please look forward to Tokyo Game Show this year.

-They show a picture of herbs and the finger, and tease what the coin is for (no answers), and that the finger may be expanded soon...

-They talk about the bayou, and mention about a ghost hunt that people are doing for a mysterious girl who is said to have been seen in the swamps.

Seems they are going with the Texas Chainsaw massacre vibe. Seems too serious, too American even? Isn't RE more about cheese?

This appears to be more like a fps version of the original 3 Resident Evils.  I'm really liking it.

They're bringing back item chests?

Honestly, I don't care what anyone says about them being "unrealistic". The item chests add STRATEGY to the games. As did having to find an ink ribbon to save your progress. You had to think about what you were doing.
